Just pointing out facts. I’m guessing they haven’t been cutting coupons in their marriage. Lol

These family articles are weird.

Money does not solve all problems. I was once poor and am not now. I know which situation is easier.

Agree. But any positive pub is good for Alma Mater. 04-cheers

I mean, I don't think I've ever heard Brian Kelly's, or Butch Jones', or Mark Dantonio's wives names brought up as much as CLF's. I certainly couldn't tell you their names. Does Nick Saban or Ryan Day even have wives?

Not only locally, but her name gets mentioned on some of the national articles and game telecasts. Why is that? Is it because she was mentioned as the reason why he turned down MSU? I guess it's a little similar to Tubs and how his wife (and her being from the area) was mentioned so much as one of the reasons why he chose to come here. I wonder how CLF feels about her being invoked so much in the conversation when it comes to his career? My guess is he probably doesn't like it.

Seriously? Seems to me and oh, I don't know, everyone? That these two have an amazing relationship and partnership. But you do you and look to poke holes where they obviously do not exist.

I could care less what their relationship is like, and it's not my (or anyone's) business to be privy to it. My original point was that I find it odd that a coach's wife gets as much conversation as she does. Frankly, I really don't care if CLF likes it or not. I'd just hate to see the wolves turn on HER if their family decides that State College, PA (or wherever) is an acceptable place to raise a family.

Dear Lord. I thought this was a great piece on our coach's wife who is genuine and classy and supportive to her husband. I'm glad that she's a part of what Luke wants to let publicly known as this family culture is what spills over to our program from both recruiting and leadership of young men perspective. I'm not surprised she gets some publicity as her husband is probably the most recognizable, biggest name in local Cincinnati sports right now. No biggie.

Apparently you don't remember Paqui Kelly and her battle with cancer... Nor the revelation that their son had been enrolled at Culver Military Academy ahead of the Notre Dame drama.

Or Mick Cronin's divorce and daughter and how the fans embraced her and speculated that Mick wouldn't "go anywhere" that would separate him from her. And, then when the "Mick to UCLA" thing happened how Sammi reportedly was "excited" to move to LA with her dad.

On the whole, Coaches families should be firmly OFF THE BOARD when it comes to criticism. The story of some fan sneaking into Steve Kragthorpe's (Louisville) home to lay a deuce in the family pool ought to be cautionary as to how crazy fans can get and how the fan-base ought to leave the family OUT OF IT when we're unhappy with the Coach. But the Kelly situation is altogether different. Paqui Kelly was found to have relapsed days after BK took the job here and faced having to leaving her established doctors and support systems in Mount Pleasant, but reportedly fans and UC embraced her and made the transition easier. There's something to be said about being "Family" here.

That also comes to the fore when things go bad... Remember how furious we were when an Assistant BB coach's wife was assaulted at Xavier? UC fans were rightly outraged that she had blue paint thrown on her and had racial slurs thrown at her. You mess with one of us, you mess with the family. It wasn't that she was just "one of our coach's wives," she was "one of us."

I get that Coaches really are just employees... But it speaks well of UC that we can also offer something that goes beyond merely being another come-and-go employee.

RE: Coach Fick's Secret Weapon
This story was clearly green lit by CLF. It’s a human interest piece that was likely put together by UC’s staff working with the local TV station. It’s designed to make people like the coach by highlighting his family. It’s PR. No big deal.

Remember TT's wife was not a good driver.

IIRC, she caused a traffic accident killing another person in the other car. No charges were ultimately filed - just a traffic citation. Conveniently swept under the rug. We can also be thankful we don't have a Gregg Marshall-esque wife LOL.
