Other CAA MBB games
Figure it might be nice to have a dedicated spot to talk about other teams/games in the conference rather than each convo getting lost in a particular game thread somewhere.
College basketball starts tonight and there are 6 CAA teams playing D1 opponents. Obviously if we want the conference to have a nice profile come March, we should be rooting for wins. Today every team is a road underdog according to Vegas.
NU +7 @ Colgate
Towson +1 @ Albany
Delaware +7.5 @ Davidson
Hofstra +19 @ Houston
Elon +19 @ Florida
UNCW +5 @ Illinois St
I was surprised at our line vs Colgate.

This is by far the best set of games the CAA has had in a single day in a long time. Quality teams up and down the list. The conference could really make a statement with a few wins

Good set of games but every CAA team is an underdog tonight. Need some upsets

RE: Other CAA MBB games
Towson line flipped to Tow -3 before tip off, I'm guessing it's a low volume betting matchup that had some $$ put on Towson late. Easy to change the odds in those types of games. All the other games as of 6:30pm ET are within 0.5 points of the lines I had posted above.

They are road games, so thats expected. 1 would be solid, 2 would be superb, more would be extraordinary

Agreed. They looked very good, especially without Jalen Ray.

Charleston won last night as the big favorite vs SC State. W&M lost to Wake.
CAA is 2-6 this season. We have some favorites tonight though.
Today:
NU +7.5 @ Georgia St
FDU @ Drexel -17
American @ W&M -2.5
Charleston - 4.5 vs Lispcomb (neutral site)

CAA now 7-10, our only upset win being Hofstra over Duquesne. Hofstra playing well so far this season.

That really isn't an upset, but a good win nevertheless.

RE: Other CAA MBB games
Two and a half weeks since that last post, and we've gone 24-24 in that time, for a total of 41-45 on the season.
Obviously JMU beating UVA was pretty nice. A bunch of other close calls over power schools but missed out. Our conference RPI is 18th in the country. Elon and W&M are a combined 0-16..
Kenpom rankings have the top 7 teams in the CAA separated by just 3 points of strength. This is looking to be a very interesting conference season.

RE: Other CAA MBB games
Hofstra getting blown out at Stony Brook was a bad loss. It wasn’t so much that they lost since it’s a rivalry game, but getting crushed in the 2nd half looked bad.
It just goes to show that everyone in this league will get thumped at some point of the season OOC.
