As much as I did not like the last guy, he definitely had an eye for talent (except for transfers).
Very satisfied overall with the product on the floor tonight. No doubt there will be some peaks and valleys this season but this team seems to enjoy playing together and for their coach. I'm also pleasantly surprised with our depth and flexibility with our bigs and guards. We lack a stud but collectively we can matchup with teams.

I remember being in nail biters against similar competition when Cronin was here Plenty of them.
More fun at the Shoe tonight than anytime in the last three years....This team is going to surprise....Hemonds set play worked well tonight....Miller is really small....And the beer was cold....

1st game…new players… new system …don’t agree with your analysis..
I am happy with the result and the defensive ability of this group. First to 60 is a compliment after the previous regime where defense was basically ranged from average to awful.
This group is going to have grind out wins with their size, depth, and defense. Cronin had a few teams like this one and made the tournament. This league stinks and there is no reason UC isn’t at the top of the conference by the end of the year.
I've been to some early season clunkers before and I'm glad this wasn't one of those. It's obvious there is a lot of work to be done but it was an easy win.
If these guys start gelling together on offense (really if they didn’t start of cold and miss so many free throws early) this team could be really good. The defense definitely looked long and scrappy and it should be really hard to score in the paint with all that length.
A bit worried about offensive rebounding and the lack of a guy who can create his own shot. Will have to be scoring by committee, but already this team looks to have more potential than any of the garbage Brannen was trotting out there.
There are a lot of solid players on this team. They play hard too. I'm pretty impressed with the talent Miller added. And he seems to relate well to the guys. Looked like he ran man-to-man D exclusively with virtually no switching. Offense was pretty vanilla from what I could tell.
Hoping for more minutes for Madsen. He can shoot, makes good decisions, just knows how to play. He looks bigger too.
DDJ is such a good player except he cannot shoot at all. He must have had close to double digit assists and rebounds.hope he gets some confidence with his jumper, but I don't think it's likely. He does everything else well.
Interesting that Ado started underneath, because he also seemed to play the least of the bigs, which I think is right. Lakhin was a surprise. Much more talented than I expected.
Evansville isn't good, but I'm pretty optimistic about these Bearcats all of a sudden.

I don't think we have the talent to compete for a conference title, but this is going to be a fun team to watch for sure. It's nice to see guys excited to be out there, who are working for their coach and each other, and schemes that work towards players strengths, not players being jammed into a scheme that doesn't work.
plugged my laptop into my 93 yr old mom's tv and she was laughing and clapping over the bearcats tonight. I THINK we'll be o k.
