Maybe C-USA could do what the Big Sky did before and contract with Pluto TV. Or maybe Xumo. Take your pick.

EDIT: Serious answer: try to get on a streaming platform. It can be ESPN+, Paramount+, or Peacock (ugh). If not these, then I'd explore Pluto TV or Xumo.

Since we have Liberty now, maybe FOX News. UTEP maybe on Telemundo?

Since we have Liberty, how about Tubi? That's Fox's free streaming platform (Pluto TV = CBS, Xumo = NBC).

One thing I an assure you is that if our AD at Liberty is allowed to get involved int he process then we will find a nice landing spot. We have a great relationship with ESPN but the streaming world is moving at breakneck speed right now. Being tied to the Mouse may not be in certain leagues' favor. I could very easily see CUSA's next media partner be someone tied to a west coast league as an available east option for inventory. Where that could be is unknown at this stage. But I do work in that space from a consulting role and I can tell you that the prospects are much more intriguing than many university presidents who ar tied to the old broadcast paradigms realize.

Cbssn is our primary rights holder now and they are contracted with the mwc as well. They just lost 9 schools to espn so maybe we can increase coverage with them. We are not going to make any money to speak of but exposure will be important as the conference grows up. We also have streaming thru espn3 and espn+ with the occassional boost to linear.

I know NBC contracts with Notre Dame on TV rights, but I wonder why they otherwise aren't into college football. You'd think they would be, given what other properties they have rights to.

They still have the USA Network and Peacock. NBC also just renewed their contract with the English Premier League for the next six years, so it's not like they won't be involved in sports.

RE: What tv package for 2023 and beyond?
CURRENT TV DEAL 2018 THRU 2023:
1. CBS SPORTS IS PRIMARY RIGHTSHOLDER FOR C-USA FOOTBALL AND MEN’S BASKETBALL INCLUDING CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN BOTH SPORTS

2. STADIUM HAS SECOND TIER RIGHTS WITH C-USA FOR FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL

* {BOTH PARTNERS TO PRODUCE SELECT GAMES TO AIR EXCLUSIVELY ON FACEBOOK AS PART OF SUBLICENSE AGREEMENTS, NO EXTRA MONIES TO CUSA}

3. ESPN+ will air all remaining football games (approximately 45 in 2018) along with 60 regular-season men’s basketball games and 28 regular-season women’s basketball games. ESPN also picks up first-round men’s and women’s basketball action at the upcoming 2018 C-USA Basketball Championships in Frisco, Texas. ESPN’s digital platforms will also spotlight additional C-USA championships throughout the year with special highlight shows. The sports expected to be featured include cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, swimming & diving, golf and tennis.Rounding out the contract, ESPN will become the primary home of multiple conference championships.
a. Men’s Soccer: All six games including the championship finals
b. Women’s Soccer: All seven games including the championship finals
c. Volleyball: All seven games including the championships finals
d. Baseball: All games leading up to the championship game, which will air on CBS Sports
e. Softball: All games leading up to the championship game, which will air on CBS Sports

NEXT TV DEAL 2023 & Beyond:

The goal should be to extend the partnership with all three (CBS SPORTS/Stadium/ESPN+) Even if it is the same $$ becuase CUSA is going from 14 to 9, each school will almost double their media payout, plus the 36M in exit fees and CUSA is GTG!
