Going to be tough for SFA.
Have not won in Conway since 2009 and have lost 7 straight to UCA and 8 of the last 9.
Sam and UCA have had our number for years.
SFA is 3-11-0 overall and 1-6 on the road, in the all-times series with UCA.

Well, well, well...it's football in November and it's Tarleton/ACU. Our last meeting at Dallas Cowboys Stadium remains to this day one of the most gratifying wins of Tarleton Football lore. ACU, year two into their transition to the Southland, and Tarleton, still stuck in D2 and begrudged about being passed over for its crosstown rival. Put them both together on the big stage in Arlington and we got 4-plus quarters of fireworks! 41-34 2OT Tarleton victory if I remember correctly. You can throw out the records, the stats and the injuries for this one. It's personal.

It's always personal between us. Has been for decades.

Very good article and rundown of our history together. I am expecting a good turnout and a good game on Saturday. I have a feeling a lot of Tarleton fans will be there.

First half was disappointing for both teams I would venture. Not very inspiring football by either side.

Sam Houston seals at least a tie for the ASUN-WAC Championship with a win over Eastern Kentucky. Sam will finish the regular season next week at ACU.

Craziest football game I've ever seen Tarleton play. Absolutely bananas. THREE 1st & Goal turnovers inside the ACU 5-yard line!? It's like we actually tried to NOT win the game.

ACU defense was surprisingly strong when called on. Tarleton seemed disorganized. Too many turnovers. Yardages about the same but ACU dominated the times it needed to. The teams are pretty balanced but ACU seemed a little faster. Thought ACU was sloppy early as was Tarleton, but the Wildcats sort of recovered and got back on track. Tarleton just had a bad game, it happens.

Six, to be exact. All unforced and led to ACU points. We either dropped the ball at the goal line, or threw into double/triple coverage, all day. Very un-Tarleton-like, but it is what it is. Hats off to ACU for taking advantage and protecting the ball.

It was definitely a strange game, but will take the very needed win. It was good to see the bands playing together at half and thought there was a decent Tarleton presence. Honestly, I thought I might see more. I am glad the rivalry is back.
