It's Back!!! Tigers vs ECU By The Numbers
Week vacation due to computer problems but I am temporarily back in action.

For once the Tigers can relate to an opponent.

ECU has had more trouble holding onto the ball than the Tigers.

Having lost 10 fumbles compared to the Tigers 6.

However, they are more successful in taking the ball away than the Tigers.

Recovering fumbles 6 times compared to the Tigers 4.

Both teams give up similar yardage passing, however, ECU once again has the advantage when it comes to takeaways.

Intercepting 12 passes compared to the Tigers 3.

Both QBs have good TD to Int ratios with Ahlers tossing 14 TD with 7 picks.

While Seth counters with 18 TDs to 5 Ints.

Alhers has thrown for 2,180 yards in 9 games compared to Seth's 2,545 in 8 games.

Tigers have got to find a way to come close to repeating their numbers defensively again this week.

They need to pressure Alhers and keep him from setting back and playing toss with his WR.

Tyler Snead is an all-purpose style player as WR and return specialist.

But if the Tigers overload in an attempt to stop Snead then Keaton Mitchell could take over and eat up yards on the ground.

He averages almost 8 yards per carry.

Tigers must find a way to develop a running game this week to keep the ECU defense honest.

If not we could see a repeat of UCF where the defense decides to grab ahold of Austin and make the officials call the penalty.

Both teams have very similar numbers offensively with the Tigers holding a slight advantage.

Both teams have similar numbers defensively with ECU holding a slight advantage.

Special teams, turnovers, and line play should determine the outcome of this one.

RE: It's Back!!! Tigers vs ECU By The Numbers
The Memphis Tigers (5-4, 2-3 AAC) have an AAC matchup against the East Carolina Pirates (5-4, 3-2 AAC). The Pirates, +190 on the moneyline to win, and the Tigers, listed at -6 on the spread, kick things off on November 13, 2021 at 12:00 PM ET. Sportsbooks have installed a point total of 60 points for the matchup.

It’s been a long time since ECU has been good and I don’t think they are good this year. Better not good. No big wins, 3 cop cakes, Temple and Tulane. This will be a road game for ECU and we play well in early KOs. This is a November home game during which we haven’t lost in years. We are getting injured players back and young players experience, we’ve changed our defense and Seth is back.

We get the win and beat the spread.

We got more horses than they do; and ours run best at home.

I hope you guys continue to bask in the glory of beating SMU while looking forward to UH. ECU has played pretty well on the road this yr beating Marshall, while covering the spread but losing heart breakers @UCF & UH. ECU has actually covered the spread for 5 consecutive games. While we might not be considered a 'good' team yet we are trending in the right direction and the defense has really improved (shut out opponents in 8 of the last 10 quarters including the entire 2nd half vs a potent UH offense). Should be a good game.

Two things I noticed about the SMU win.

1. For once, the play calling was mixed up a bit. Some gambles on 4th down and defense pressured the QB.
2. Memphis was finally the beneficiary of some timely turnovers.

I'm hoping that what we saw this Saturday carries over to the next game.

Except our only running play is up the middle regardless of if it's working or not. No pitches, misdirection or off tackle plays. I don't get it.

Hope my fellow Tiger fans comprehend that.

The UH game went to overtime AT HOUSTON.

When a game goes to OT anything can happen.

Mitchell is leading the nation in YPC and I do not care who you play against 7.39 YPC is nothing to sneeze at.

No disrespect to ECU but if we somehow could get our injured OL back instead of having to rely on 3rd stingers in at least one position, then I do not think ECU can stop the Tigers offense.

Even though they did shut out Houston in the second half.

Seth while a true Freshman about to play in his 9th career game, is just 136 yards away from reaching the Tigers top 10 in career passing yards.

We have no speed to turn the corner at RB. Jet sweeps may work, but pitches and off-tackle end up as 2-yd losses. It's terrible what has happened to our RB stable.

Perhaps but if you never try they will never have to defend it.

We tried a couple Saturday. It was sad seeing our RB not able to turn upfield.

There's little glory to be found for us in a 4-loss season, it's all about surviving another week.

May need to give Austin some reps in the backfield. With his size he is not likely to get much attention as a wide out. Same height as Gainwell but some 40 pounds lighter.
