Good article on the Arlington kid (Heisman Trophy Candidate at MSU)...Essentially stating they were trying to get Memphis to recruit him but we didn't. We did have Gainwell at the time though.

Know a few of his former coaches. They were upset he didn't get an offer, but if you look at his offer list, we weren't the only ones that "missed" on him. Like I told them, we have a pretty good track record of finding RB's. He apparently is an incredibly hard worker and is on a mission. He put in a lot of work at Wake and has now found a good fit at MSU. Happy for him and wish him nothing but success. Pretty sure he's got a pretty good OL at MSU.

No doubt...

There are always going to be guys who get there through time and dedication instead of pure talent.

Not sure if we reached out when he went into the portal though...But hard to compete with MSU.

We had a stable of frosh and soph RBs in 2019 - including Gainwell and Clark who were both much higher rated. We also still had Big Pat on the roster. So it's totally understandable they passed on him out of HS.
If they didn't actively pursue him this offseason when he hit the portal, then that's inexcusable.

which is a low 3-star

IKE's guessing some of u Dudes think Memphis doesn't know running back talent.
