On the plus side, I see UT about 35 on overall D. It wasn't going to be worth the fight at the time, the board was rather enthusiastic about the "connections" (I wasn't) but …. HS QB Coach? Buck still stops at HC.

This isn't going to be an easy fix. Getting rid of Coach Candle before his contract is up, not the path I would take. Lame Duck isn't good either but it's the fix AD's office put us in and let's be honest, there were very few on this board willing to put up objections at the time it happened. The far majority were "but the kids like him," "continuity....."..... They didn't see the perceptual and historical implications of the salary number nor that is not how to construct a contract when it's not LARGELY based upon performance and results.
