But then I heard his son was on the team, so I’ll give him a pass for that. It’s understandable and I don’t think he should be clowned on for going to see his son play, for however long he hits the field.

But he’s still a clown for not standing up to the CAA douche presidents.04-cheers
I’d want to show up to see my kid too, I just wouldn’t be posting these dumbs tweets every week in my official capacity of a supposed impartial conference commissioner. It gives off the obvious bad optics until you find out his boy is on the team. Plus it makes him look like a creepy fanboy or roadie for the band out on tour. You’d think Novas coach would tired of posing for these by now.

This and if he’s using CAA funds to pay for travel, meals, lodging etc to attend these games then it sure feels like there’s an ethics violation that needs to be looked into. If I was the president or AD of the other CAA schools, I would be pretty irritated about this even if just from an optics / bias perspective.

Not a good look but when has that ever stopped this yahoo from doing his thing?

On top of the optics look, don't you think Ferrante gets tired of the obligatory weekly photo?

He's like a "hovering parent" on the sidelines during a Saturday soccer game wanting to make sure his kid gets adequate playing time despite wearing some type of CAA garb. What an arse clown....

I pretty much told him such with a couple of replies to his tweet after asking if he was going to fly the CAA plane into SHD for today's game.

Pretty sure that's a given. He will be there wearing nova blue and "defining excellence" once again, lol
Curious which of his 2 ties he’ll wear with his one suit…03-shhhh

Some hilarious comments.

Just saw the arse clown running down the sidelines when Nova scored to go up 21-14 over the Jackrabbits just before halftime.

He shouldn't even wear a CAA Conference jacket but instead Villanova garb when he gets his weekly picture with Ferrante. What a friggin joke he is.

Any father would watch his son play ball. Don't fault him for being there.

I don't fault him as a father at all. However, he is more than a father. He is a commissioner of a sports conference and represents the entire conference.
Great job as a dad. Terrible job as a commissioner.
The other schools are getting completely overlooked and not supported by their commissioner.
So glad we are getting out of this crap of a conference. They deserve for the conference to burn.

It’s not his being there that folks are faulting him for. It’s his tweeting every week at the games representing the CAA in a commissioner capacity vs attending the game in a non-professional parental capacity. As I’ve posted previously, if he uses any CAA funds to support his T&E related to attending these games then it’s brings up some interesting ethics questions.

First his son doesn’t play, he prob got a scholarship bc of uncle Joe. I see your point but it’s deeper than that. Perception is everything. You can’t mix home with business.

I applaud him for watching his son maybe take one snap. In his father capacity he is a Villanova fan which I agree with. When he is off work and takes personal time off from work to hopefully see his son take a snap is awesome.

In his profession profile he represents for 10 CAA schools. In his professional capacity he needs to show interest in all schools regardless of status. Which in his professional capacity he has shown an interest in one school.

I honestly pains me that our student athletes can’t have a post season yet he completely disregards the responsibilities of his position.

This is an absolute slam dunk for a case in neglect of responsibilities.

His son played yesterday. Unless there’s another kicker unfortunate enough to share his last name.

Can we all just agree to go throw streamers at the CAA office here in Richmond after the season and move on?

Since the Dukes have played their last CAA game at BFS does that mean we can take the CAA Football logo off the field today?

Inquiring minds must know!!

RE: CAA Commissioner…
Based on playoff results (Nova lost against unseeded SDSU in quarters, SHSU and JMU leaving) ... I'd expect Nova will end the season ranked at #6 in FCS.

So next year, CAA starts out with Nova at #6 and no other ranked teams. They might be lucky to get the champ a top 8 seed and one other at large bid. They certainly won't be getting 4+ teams in the field.
