Sunbelt Roadtrips
Starting to prioritize what away games to attend. Which places have the best stadiums, atmosphere, towns, etc?
I'm in Richmond so ODU is a no brainer every away game and I'm looking at Boone, Huntington, and Myrtle Beach first due to proximity.
Maybe do a West division road trip every other year or so.

Bring the MRDs and 5K of us and all of the stadiums will have a good atmosphere. :)
Boone is definitely one to attend. That's going to be fun.

RE: Sunbelt Roadtrips
Wife and I will probably make the trips to all the East division games, not sure yet as to the west games. Will have to see how they fall out and what else is going on. The east games are an overnite trip or two at the most.

RE: Sunbelt Roadtrips
Appy, Marshall, and ODU are driveable and definites.
Coastal, GA St, GA Southern are likely.
In the south division, I can see making it to S AL, LA, LA-Monroe, and TX St. Those all have local airports with flights from Harrisonburg or Charlottesville. Troy, AK St, or S MS require too much travel.
I've priced out 'Duke Force 1' charter flights to some of these schools and it's possible to charter a round trip flight plus busses to the game and back to the airport for as little as $600 a person.

Does Monroe have an airport?

Yes, airport code MLU. It's about a 5 hour flight from Charlottesville and a 10 minute drive to Malone Stadium.

RE: Sunbelt Roadtrips
Just judging by attendance, even while their team is bad, it seems like a safe bet to say that Southern Miss is a trip in the west to try and make for a good atmosphere. Especially if they can improve on the field of course. I agree with others that I'll probably consider ODU, App, Marshall, and probably Coastal pretty much of a must-go each time we play there. The Georgia schools I don't think I'll be making the trip every time but definitely now and then.
