We'll likely be able to throttle most teams on talent alone.
However, I think only about 20% of our made fgs were outside the restricted area, and a lot of those came in garbage time.
When we play better teams, all the turnovers + layups won’t be able to float the offense. Three point shooting is largely why the game was close at halftime despite us outplaying them by a considerable margin based on the eye test; they made a bunch of threes, and we didn’t.
Speaking to that point, I'm surprised Brown didn't get more minutes last night. I know it's just one game, but he fills a big need on this team. At least for last night, he seemed to be pretty near the end of the rotation. Jamal Johnson seems to be the odd man out along with Locure - hopefully that doesn't cause problems. AK said he only wants to play 8-9 guys.
Jamal hasn't looked good in either game. I'm surprised Locure hasn't gotten more minutes just based on him being a true PG. I thought he'd be Walker's backup, but it looks like Ertel is still playing some PG when Walker is out.
I feel like Johnson is likely our 8 guy off the bench. Locure and him combined for 0 assists in 24 minutes though. I think some of the rotations will depend on the game and the opponent, but we all knew there would be an odd man out somewhere with this roster.

Jamal's shot was way off. This team still lacks pure shooters and he's one of the better shooters we have, so we are going to need him. I thought Locoure looked good when he was on the court.

RE: UNC Asheville
I’ve never seen Jamal play much prior to tonight, but is his shot different? It just looked odd.

BTW, UNCA beat Brevard College 101-44 yesterday.
Asheville made 17 of 37 three-pt attempts for 46%.

RE: UNC Asheville
UNCA (294) got smoked at Chattanooga (126) today, 75-45. The starters for UNCA were a combined 0-12 in three-point attempts. Chattanooga jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back. It was bad.
UNCA’s rating dropped from 276 to 294.
