Not so sure about that. GSU seems like a very good team. Plus our QB1 may be out for this game. One of our key defensive guys went out last night as well and was seen with a boot on the sideline.

well...the thing is...we've been playing our own backup QB who came from playing FCS ball games...

But isn't he better than the former starter? And he'll be playing in his hometown.

This is embarrassing but the sophomore starter turned out to be terrible at reading defenses and lost the job to a FCS QB, who is horribly inaccurate. This is a lost season and we will be looking for several new QBs this cycle.

Hey now, you quit with that nonsense. stAte fans were pulling the same crap a couple of weeks ago and that turned into a one score game. You can never project what Cajuns team will show up, unless it’s against Tx St, then you know we’re gonna spank them.

No...

Come back to this post in one week.

You'll see what we mean when we say Taylor Powell is AWFUL.

I'll expect a post from you saying, "I see what you mean."

Watch him have the game of his life where he throws 550 yards, 5 TDs and leads Troy past Louisiana and secures Chip Lindsey a 4th year leading them team lol. Would be our luck

W&M would fit right in with Wofford, DerpPurp, and Samford.

To be fair, Louisiana can't beat anyone other than App by one score. It's the damndest thing I've ever seen. Nichols State, one score. Arkansas State 1 point. Georgia State 3 points. App State.. 29 points..

The more the season goes on, the more convinced I am that I have no idea if that first game is useful in making any determinations about either team.

That said, Louisiana by 6.

RE: Week 11 Sunbelt Projections
Ga State at Coastal
If McCall plays, Coastal by 17, if he doesn't, Georgia State by 4. Watching Coastal without McCall (rain or not) showed me just how good McCall is. He's not an NFL talent, but he's very much like Taylor Lamb was for App. He is the key that turns all of the locks for the offense.

South at App
If Jake Bentley plays, App by 10. If Bentley doesn't play, App by 18. Steven Jones scores another few touchdowns to take the lead league in touchdown receptions...

Southern at TX State
Texas State by 17

Louisiana at Troy
Louisiana wins by 3. Louisiana could play Wisconsin Whitewater and win by 2 to 5 points. At this point, it doesn't matter. Louisiana plays to their level of competition and while it's working, it's great. However if I were a fan of Louisiana I'd be asking questions of the coaching staff. You are far too talented and well coached to continue to scrape by everyone.

Ark St at ULM
ULM wins by 3. ULM is playing at a level that suggests the sum of their parts are greater than the whole. Good coaching staff. However Arkansas State does have some individuals on defense that can create havoc plays. I also expect Wyatt Beagle will play and he looks like he runs a legit 4.3 40 yard dash. Arkansas State needs to let him finish out the year because he could be a league wrecker.

Future teams

FAU at Old Dominion
ODU wins by 4. Old Dominion had a 19 game losing streak and managed to snap it against a bad Louisiana Tech team who has thrown in the towel. Do they come back and lose the next week? No. They string together another win. ODU is stacking pennies right now and I believe they may have hit that point that App did in 2014 where it took one win to turn everything around. ODU shocks C-USA and makes Mike Aresco question his entire reason for being.

UAB at Marshall
Marshall wins by 21. UAB is not as good as they have been in years past. They gave up 40+ points to what had been a Louisiana Tech offense stuck in mud. Wells, Ali, Gammage, and that defense have really found their footing under Huff and are on a mission to have a de facto division championship game against the program that dashed their hopes of NY6 in 2014, Western Kentucky. Doc Holliday isn't in Huntington anymore. In previous years, this is a spot where Marshall inexplicably loses in embarrassing fashion.

Southern Miss at San Antonio
UTSA wins by 25. Southern Miss is bad, UTSA isn't as good as their AP ranking suggests. I think at least 3 to 4 teams in the Sun Nelt are better, but this Southern Miss team is bad. If they were an NFL team, I'd say they are sucking for the 1st pick but there is no draft in college so I'm not sure what's going on. Unlike ODU, I don't see any improvement or bright spots for USM. It's just bad, bad, and worse. Offense is bad, defense can't hold up for four quarters, and their best player, Gore, can't do everything himself.

JMU at William and Mary
JMU wins by 25. Seems JMU is on a mission to take advantage of what will be their curtain call in the FCS Playoffs this season. They know what is at stake for the legacy of JMU in FCS and momentum looking forward to moving up. They have been close to National Championships the past several years, giving up a 24-3 lead at Sam Houston to lose in embarrassing fashion in the Semi Finals. They are on a reckoning tour to prove that they are better than that.

Plus NDSU looked like a Division 2 team against SDSU so I'd imagine blood is in the water for all contenders in FCS.

They are the types that will beer bong crown royal before games. They may not get all of the rednecks like Virginia Tech does but they have a good number who show up on GameDay to party; my cousin used to be one of them. Shared some very telling pictures and videos from JMU tailgates.

JMU looks down on the Golden Crescent public schools (ODU, VCU, George Mason) while UVA, W&M and to a degree Richmond look down on them)

Or put in language I appreciate:
ODU/VCU/Mason -- Food Lion (Safeway in Mason's case as there aren't any Food Lions inside the Beltway as far as I can tell)
JMU/VT -- Harris Teeter
UVA/W&M/Richmond -- Wegmans

Nate fuqua says he accepts your challenge. Seriously though if grainier could make some throws maybe but not too optimistic about that.

Grainger isn't great, but he's had some decent games. I think the running game of GSU will give Coastal problems and I firmly believe GSU's defense will show up with confidence after how they played against Louisiana.

I know Coastal won on Saturday, but if they had been playing one of the better conference teams they very well could've lost. We will see.

Really depends on which Grainger plays. It's like Jekyll and Hyde over here. Grainger places perfectly accurate balls one game, then cant hit wide open receivers in the next game.

I would imagine A-State didn't have any home games on Saturdays in October - bet that isn't a problem next year . . .
