I want to see .
either Caleb Hawkins or Noah Grant kicking next week … I can’t take another game with Doyle kicking FG’s and Kemp is apparently no where to be found …

Also, please please keep the blitzing D … amazing how much pressure you get rushing 4 or 5 guys , especially from different directions !!!

They gave up on the 3 man front and went to the 4-3. Always been my favorite. It’s what we played in high school when a traditional 5 DL was most common.

If we any kicker available they would be out there rather than joe.

Hopefully they fix this kicking deal next year.

RE: I want to see .
It's on the Spec Team coach and the HC at this point.
The same issues all year long - unresolved.
Open kicker tryouts with the men's soccer team would be better than the same old movie with the same result.
Having to go for it on 4th and long is not a recipe for long-term success - even if it did work against SMU.
And it's not just place-kicking.
Punting into a teammate's back could have killed us yesterday.
Earlier, we had a perfect punt dropped in at the 3, but our cover gunner tried some weird method of downing it and it predictably went into the end zone for a touchback.
And don't get me started on fair catching inside our own 10 - although to be fair, this is not the only ST Coach allowing that bonehead play these days.

Sure looked to me like they were still running the 3-4. They just added blitz packages.

RE: I want to see .
we should start this guy:

Ranked the sixth-best kicker in the country by 247Sports and the No. 5 kicker in the 2021 class according to Chris Sailer Kicking
• Connected on 39-of-42 extra point attempts and 12-of-21 field goal attempts with a long of 54 during the 2020 season

What are you going to offer soccer players to come over to the football team? They all knew there was a football team when they committed to the soccer team….. now if we have a guy on the soccer team that is deep on the bench and tired of running to stay in shape… they may be convinced to step over a few yards to a different field

RE: I want to see .
alabama missed an extra point, that could have cost them the game

mississippi state missed 3 field goals, the last one to tie the game

we arent the only one with problems

maybe kickers need to go back to the old way of kicking the ball straight on

It's been done at other schools.
Like you said, maybe a bench sitter. Or maybe a player who realizes there might be some money to be made in real football.
Point is, we can't just keep doing the same thing that keeps failing.
Well I guess we can, season is almost over.

That was the only XP Bama has missed all year, and they hit 77% of their FGs.
Miss St has been bad at FGs but they have not missed an XP all year.

We are dead last in kicking % in FBS.
We are #125 in Red Zone Offense in FBS.
We are historically bad for a program who recently emphasized and excelled in Spec Teams.

Probably not gonna happen this year.
I love the guys like Austin, Dykes, Seth, JJ.
But it's been a struggle to watch these games - and I go to them.
I'm afraid they've lost the fans this year.
Gonna have to win them back with a hot start next year.
