I think it's incredibly fascinating how frank and forthcoming WKU's AD was in the piece. Really charts out the whole process from the inside.

There wasn't much new information, but it did clear up a lot of speculation that was being made. Good to know we had options and it does seem like we were a big reason Marshall and ODU left. We wanted stability and CUSA couldn't provide that.
I kind of feel bad for WKU fans as it sounds similar to us for a while. We wanted to move, but there was nowhere to go.
WKU clearly does not want to be in CUSA. The MAC would have been a great fit for them but they had to depend on MTSU to want to go as well.
CUSA in the past made some terrible decisions in who to add and really made it a mess travel-wise. This time they really didn't have a choice and made desperate moves to stay alive.
I am curious to see what happens to the conference in the next 5-10 years. The media deal is probably going to be as bad or worse than the last one.

Yeah honestly makes me glad JMU admin doesn't take that approach. Sure it was always frustrating as fans, but if I was a WKU fan I wouldn't love the optics of going "yeah we'd take any invite but no one wants us." On top of kinda putting down your own school I'd also hate to see a conference mate talking the way WKU is.
