We figured since we have more fans in Atlanta than State, we should make an effort to connect with them 05-stirthepot

I mean, the vast majority of our alums do live in Atlanta and the metro-area.

Honestly, I saw more Southern attire, car tags, etc when I lived in Atlanta than I do living in south Georgia now.

Did they really put these up or is it like the photoshopped UNT to AAC billboards?

Outside of Atl and MB, it seems like a waste of money. Why do you need to pay for exposure in small college markets where you already compete?

Yep. This is the kind of thing our previous AD wouldn't have even thought of. He would've hired a position coach from Utah State and sent out a tweet about it.

I do like the ad campaign. Good use of the new ESPN money. Way to go Southern admins!

There is no way to calculate the ROI but it is better than doing nothing. Not going to hate on the effort.

Funny, in Lafayette, people seeing it will be like "is he opening a restaurant here or something?"

Honestly, I saw more Southern attire, car tags, etc when I lived in Atlanta than I do living in south Georgia now.

With the absorption of Armstrong State Chatham County became the county with the largest enrollment then it is Gwinnett County, Bulloch than Fulton. I believe out of the 159 plus counties all the metro counties are in the top ten. I would imagine if you add it all up most of our students come from the metro ATL area. This is why I just shake my head at the smack talk about the location for GS in the context of students and alums.

Yep. When I was in high school in metro Atlanta, the majority of students went to one of UGA, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, or North Georgia. Of the friends I made at Southern, most were from Roswell, Marietta, Cumming, etc. Just off the top of my head, I only made friends with two people that weren't from the Atlanta area.
