Omg. I didn’t watch the replay yet, but GS played a dirty game from beginning to end.
Didnt really see anything malicious, but I'll rewatch the game tonight
I wasn’t at the game but could definitely tell there were some extra curricular activities going on after the whistle. Also had a buddy standing in the tunnel, and the GS team was talking major trash to our guys as they walked past them at halftime.
What do you think your student section says to players? By all accounts, it's worse than anything the App fans were accused of saying to the Marshall players.
Who cares if the players talk trash to people because what they heard all game from drunk students behind them was assuredly much, much worse.
Are there any other Sun Belt schools who have the student section behind the visitor bench? ECU used to do it before they bowled in the stadium. I think moving students there was two-fold but a part of it were things students were saying to opposing players, predictably.
Do you really think that the players, coached and staff should be held to the same standards as fans? Don’t you think that official reps of schools should behave accordingly? And learn to just shrug off smack talk???? After all they’re all getting paid in one firm or another. Fans are not

The point is that the players at Louisiana are catching crap from the time they get there until the time they leave. Sure, they can be expected to not say anything, however is that realistic for 18-22 year old kids? No.
They catch crap, especially while winning, they are going to dish it back out.
I have no qualms with Louisiana. I have a lot of respect for the program. But based on what I've heard about what is said to players there, I definitely don't take issue with players saying anything back.

All of this getting mad about what one group of 18-22 year olds says to another group of 18-22 year olds is sort of silly. They aren’t at church.
My only issue is when a team’s players do crap after the whistle such as ripping helmets off or throwing punches.

Succinctly stated my friend.
I did see quite a bit of the latter from both sides last evening.

I was a six pack+ in by kickoff, so I only saw the GSU players doing the extracurriculars!

I was at the game I thought officiating was just typical SBC officials. There was some after action hits but also some academy award acting. I don't have a problem with player talking smack back to the fans that are talking smack to them. That's why the student section is there to distract players. Several schools have there student section behind opposing benches.

Yeah. And with all of our attendance issues lately, it’s been a bright spot watching them in action. They have a pretty big base that are there for most games, and are into the game from the time they arrive until well after the game is over.
While I might cringe a bit at some of the antics, I think they have a pretty big effect on the game, and as a fan that to me is what it is all about. If you don’t take use of your home field advantage, you are putting yourself at a big disadvantage.

Looked pretty even on both sides to me and didn't look like anything egregious. Just the usual of guys tapping each other lightly in the chest and talking crap a lot, not the kind of thing that's gonna hurt anyone or even hurt anyone's feelings, just a lot of crap that I get nervous about in relation to unnecessary 15-yard penalties, because that's the last thing we need. The personal foul on our LB Blake Carroll just looked like he was too amped up and didn't stop at the whistle, just a dumb play but not malicious.
Whenever I'm inclined to think to myself (or publicly post) something like "The other team was instigating much more than my team!" I try to catch myself and wonder if I'm looking at things objectively as a fan. Usually I'm not!
The criticisms of the Trent Miles GSU teams were justified, but I haven't seen anything like that from an Elliott team.

Gotcha. And my post never implied that it was only GSU doing stuff after the whistle. My only position is that I didn’t like stuff outside of the game like throwing a punch or ripping someone’s helmet off. They can talk trash back and forth all game for all I care, but leave it at that.

Oh definitely, I think I probably meant to reply to the other poster and not you anyway! Wrong guy!
