Firstly...I am on board with not being a dick. Secondly....I'm not sure there is evidence that what has happened at AState will be a part of our cycle. But that's a different conversation.

Admittedly it is getting old seeing App fans bring up crowd size every. Single. Week. To App fans I say....how long have you watched college football? Very few non p5 teams have crowds like us. Period. Every Year someone does...but consistently? Who averages sellouts? This is not a new development.

To non App fans I say...some fans may be trying to be a dick. But some may genuinely be shocked. If you read online that our stadium holds 30,000k that is not true. Our official capacity, even with recent stadium capacity is just over 24k. And we routinely pull 2,000-7,000 over capacity with our hill and 2 people per seat in the student section. App games are an event and have been for decades. So it does not compute with some why other teams don't have support....we've had 1 losing season in 30 years, that was 2014. And we pulled 23k per game.l that year.

We have generations of fans that have only been exposed to consistently winning, conference titles, double digit win seasons....and Michigan. and we don't have an SEC team in our footprint. Acc football does not effect us...so our fan base has been able to grow without the hurdles you guys have dealt with.

App fans are generally great people. But I'd your from NC and an app fan, it's hard to put ourselves in your shoes. Not having any real competition for fans is the biggest single difference between us and every other team in the sun belt. App fans don't feel 2nd fiddle to anyone...and our atmosphere is amazing I will admit.

Just my 2 cents. But most App fans have great respect for Sun Belt programs and we are very happy to be here and play such high level competition against you guys.

Our fans have no idea how bad attendance is going to be if we start losing. I think it is crazy to put down a fan base for attendance when they are losing. At the same time I do think it is funny to put down a marketz fan base when they lose a few and no one shows up for a game. Miami is a ghost town after a few losses. We are fortunate to have a great student section. Our season ticket holders are fickle with weather or some losses. The same person above making fun of attendance probably never attends our 800 attendance in Basketball. I am humble and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Sunbelt.

Oh let it go. We understand. StAte has been through the cycle before. It’s usually the younger ones that get sparky on this kind of stuff. No big deal.

There’s absolutely nothing below board about bringing up attendance every week. We’re all in this together as a league and that’s an area where we could be poised to lead the new G5 if some of these former Sun Belt bellwethers could get it together.

If A-State beat App like a mule at home I'd expect some of the same ribbing. Simma Donna.

After a few years of getting his house in order from Blake's mismanagement I expect Butch to compete for conference championship.

Since my comment seems to have enraged two fanbases, I might as well clarify things.

1. No, I wasn't trying to be a dick. I know stAte has been a mess for years, and I really hope they are able to be competitive again in a few years. (Somebody has to take care of the Cajuns in the West!) Constantly being part of the coaching carousel sucks. I also have no disdain for stAte.

2. Watching the game on ESPN+ today, the crowd was very sparse. 9k for announced attendance, even at this level is pretty bad. Usually, the crowds similar to that in FBS are only seen on Tuesday night MACtion games. My post was meant to show my shock. I know the program's rebuilding, and I'm not trying to rub salt in the wound.

3. I do believe that attendance across all sports is something the conference as a whole can strive to improve.

I also realize App has been incredibly lucky surviving two coaching changes. I still don't know how we managed to pull it off without skipping a beat.

Ark St was our first “new rival” when we joined the SBC, what Blake has done to this program is ridiculous.

I do hope Clark didn’t bust into their huddle post game to congratulate Ark St players on playing tough.

Agree 100%, a couple of losing seasons and we are looking at 15,000 a game, if we are lucky, not a knock on APP or any other school, I don’t care if your Bama or APP, you don’t meet expectations fans will not show up, so stay humble my fellow mountaineers, the gap between APP and ASU isn’t as large as it appears.

True, but 1 win is really rough. Maybe stAte should schedule La Tech to get a quick easy W?

Good thing for App State is they don’t have to share their state with a SEC school whose fans pretty much dominate the state. Don’t get me wrong, when we are good we have good crowds, but if we aren’t they’d rather just stay home and watch Arkansas on TV.

Our state is about 97% razorback fans. Even most stAte fans are pig fans. The only time we have good crowds are when we are winning. Other than that it's deer season and hogs on tv.

I never hear us bragging about our basketball crowds. Rejoice at what we have at the moment without throwing it around in others faces.

I complain about our basketball crowds all the time.

It’s unfortunate. We are fortunate that we have no sec schools to compete with. I work with a AState grad. I go to talk the game with her and she says App isn’t playing the razorbacks. I was like but you went to AState? Now if Astate beats us she rubs it in but if they are losing she is all Razorbacks. It’s not fun but it is what is.

We do have the same problem in basketball. A lot of our kids and alum still pull for Acc schools in bball.

I don’t care what the opposing fans attendance is as long as we get the W. However packed stadiums with your rivals is fun.
