MTSU and WKU to the MAC may not be a done deal
The rumor is that the MAC wants these schools to make a 25 year commitment (someone just reported that it is actually a 15 year commitment) to stay in the league. The newest member of the MAC (NIU) has been there for 24 years, while half the teams have been together for 70 years or more. They pride themselves in the stability of the league. WKU and MTSU might be very reluctant to make this type of commitment. I think the MAC is fine with adding these 2 schools, but really doesn't need them and won't lose sleep if they don't get them. What they don't want is teams joining for a few years, out of desperation, and then leaving when they get a "better" offer. While I thought it was a done deal, I think the odds may now be in favor of these 2 teams staying in the rebuilding CUSA. I think if they stay our chances of being invited to join CUSA are probably greatly reduced.
