Cincy 6th in initial CFP ranking
I couldn’t care less about the Bearcats since they are leaving the conference and joining the BigXII. But they are getting screwed by the CFP committee. The committee rewards perceived stronger schedules and conferences. But I don’t see Ohio State or Alabama or Georgia lining up to play Cincy. The Bearcats get screwed for playing outside the P5 and that’s how it’s always going to be.

Yep, screwed. Typical arrogance of the committee. Oregon has by far the worst loss (& likely a good win over OSU who hasn't played anyone else), the committee ranks OU at 8 but should have lost to Tulane at home but Cincy gets downgraded for not beating Tulane away worse. In terms of schedule, who does anyone in the PAC & ACC play? Rigged & screwed.

No surprise. P5 bias is shown again.

So do you think if Memphis were undefeated they would have been ahead of Miss State?

100% certain we would be ahead of Ms State if we were 8-0.

No way Cincy is getting in unless there are some more losses. Everyone knew this was coming.

I think they get in just because they’re leaving in a couple years.

Eight non-P5 teams ranked this week by the AP T25.

Just three non-P5 teams ranked by the CFP.

Total work.

Don’t know who Cincy has left but to remain undefeated they would have to beat Houston or SMU at least once and likely twice

Is that really enough to justify being rated above an Oregon or Alabama or Ohio State?

Especially if Notre Dame remains with only that one loss, it should.

Even bigger issue is Wake.

Thing is, Cincinnati getting left out is in the cards and we know it.

An undefeated P5 champion getting left out? Yikes. We are fast on the tracks to creating Division Zero.

Really thought they would have at least put them in the top 4 this week, only to move down later, and they would talk about how close Cincinnati was.

I wouldn’t get too worked up over the first poll. Some of those are going to sort themselves out through head-to-head matchups in the next month or so. I’ve said all along that Cincy is vulnerable to being screwed over by the committee, and didn’t help their cause letting Navy hang around. Like the Tigers, they also seem to play down to their competition and appear to struggle.

Cincy will go undefeated and finish 6th-8th. The die is cast.

RE: Cincy 6th in initial CFP ranking
Good grief people! They didn't walk all over Navy and didn't walk all over Tulane, like the "should have". Had they run up big and coasted to a 16-18 point win, they might have gotten more consideration.

If it was Houston or SMU ranked 16th instead of UTSA and Cincy won regular season and CCG, then they would have that feather in their cap. As it is, they'll get a little feather for SMU and then Houston probably, but those 2 and the ND win is all they will have. You can't pretend that compares to the wins these other teams will have at 13-0 or 12-1, maybe even 11-2. The others simply have too much beef on their schedules compared to Cincy. If it was Houston, SMU, UCF, Temple, us and Cincy all ranked and they beat all of us, they would get higher at 13-0, but not this year.

Of the top 10 only 3 teams have top 10 wins, Cincinnati, Michigan State, and Oregon. Of those 3 only 2 have road wins against top 10, Cincinnati and Oregon. Of those 2 only 1 is undefeated, Cincinnati.

You have Miss St and Wisconsin ranked with 3 losses while Houston and SMU with single losses are unranked.

Cincinnati best win at #10 ND. Bama's best win at #16 ole miss. With a bad loss to Texas AM. Aggies we're 0-2 in conference before beating Bama losing to Miss State and Arkansas. Both 5-3. Their only other conferences wins are Missouri and South Carolina both 4-4. They're top 25 based solely on a single win against Bama.

Wonder if the UC coach realized at the time how much calling a pass on 3rd and 2 instead of running the ball in last year's bowl game would end up costing him?

Really same narrative as every year. Haven't played anyone not strong enough schedule etc.

One of the many reasons cinci and others are jumping ship.

Got to drag out that Strength of Schedule metric. That makes it virtually impossible for non-P5 teams to get in.

Oklahoma is 9-0 and behind cinci

so b12 is not going to help
