Also beat Richmond that year and narrowly lost to UConn in the opener and UNC in the NIT. Fantastic season. That's also the year of the infamous Jeremy Linn buzzer beater that beat us in 3 OTs vs Harvard.

It doesn't seem like anyone knows for sure why Ray wasn't playing for Hofstra, but they seem like a very solid team with or without him

Our last ACC win was 2015 at NC State(also in the opener). Not expecting that type of game tonight. But, I am looking forward to seeing some basketball tonight.

That was a fun evening. I remember NC State fans commenting that the Tribe locked really good, unfortunately, as it turned out, the Wolfies just weren't any good that year.

State lost their starting PG for the season in the first half of our game in 2015 which killed their season. Great game!

South Carolina State, picked to finish seventh out of eight in the MEAC, lost at ECU by eight in a tight game Tuesday night. Charleston blew them out tonight, 106-84, and looked pretty good under the new staff.

Charleston may very well be good but keep in mind that it was their first game, at home, whereas S.C. State was playing their second game in three days (and the first game was tight, as you say). Indeed, State will be exhausted because there are two more days to that tournament.

Kelsey is a great coach to have in the league.

I agree. Away wins at Maryland, Richmond, and Wake and 22 wins in a strong CAA. Instead we got hosed with an away NIT game against an under achieving UNC team.

Kind of like the year Drexel was robbed when they had like 26 wins.

W&M was the highest rated (or maybe 2nd highest - according to the RPI) team not invited to the tournament that season, and then to be sent on the road for the first round of the NIT was, again, a slap in the face.

If I remember correctly (more of a challenge every year), we were the highest ranked team bt RPI not to make the tournament & our RPI was better than approximaely 1/3 of the field (including automatic qualifiers).

Early season comparative matchup of interest with Northeastern at Georgia St, 1 pm, ESPN+.

Northeastern and Sun Belt favorite, GA State, tied at halftime, 42 all. Both teams have gone ten deep.
Northeastern may be very good come league play once Coen meshes all of the new moving pieces.

A 1pm weekday game seems kinda random, especially as the home opener.
