How in the hell are the posters on this board expected to judge his qualifications without a picture?

He’s interim President at UT-Arlington … are they considering him for the role permanently?

No way. That is one of the most Woke places on the planet.
You sure you aren't thinking of U Texas @ Austin?
I don't know much about UTArlington other than it's south of DFW and east of Ft. Worth.
Yeah - that comment didn't add up at all so I just ignored it.

I always was under the impression that UT Arlington was the conservative, growing, regular kid version of UT Austin.

Are any of these 3 capable of filling Dr Rudd’s shoes? At a time when we need dynamic leadership, are any of these 3 going to inspire our alumni base to donate… organize & lead an effort to move up to the Big 12… connect with business & community leaders. I hate to be a pessimist, but over the years, we’ve had far more mediocre hires than dynamic ones.

Since most Fort Worth kids don't go to TCU, Arlington is the closest state school.
Ft Worth is very working class (my son lives there) so I imagine you are correct.

RE: Third candidate for UofM President named - Dr. Teik Lim
As a few posters have noted, the man does have some experience working outside academia. So that's a plus.
From his resume:
He worked as a project engineer and senior engineer at Structural Dynamics Research Corporation before joining The Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research as a research scientist.
Still, I'm not high on this candidate or the other two.

Considering there is a bagillion dollar Ford plant coming I gotta probably give him the nod over # 2

From his resume...I'm going to assume there are a lot of first-gen students at UTA, which is a plus in his corner for UofM.
President ad interim (2020–present)
Appointed by the Chancellor and approved by the Board of Regents of the University of Texas System. The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a comprehensive, Carnegie R-1, Texas Tier One, Hispanic-serving institution (HSI) and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving institution (AANAPISI) with a total (global) enrollment of 60,000 students (more than 14,000 degrees conferred in academic year 2020-2021, and is the 5th most diverse student body among US national universities).

Cammy = academic
Bill = Sounds like a shady Jeb Bush talking.
Tiek Lim = well rounded, has passion, energetic, leader.
I am in on Tiek.

Seems like a weak group to me.
Back to the drawing board…. If I had to pick, I’d go with 2, then 3, then 1. Looks too be a huge step down from Rudd…

he is most impressive of the 3 in the 'real world'.
Dr. Teik C. Lim, Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati (UC), will be the next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs of UTA,
Dr. Lim, whose appointment takes effect June 30, 2017, is an experienced leader, accomplished scholar and innovator. Since 2012, Dr. Lim served as the 19th Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Cincinnati, overseeing significant growth in enrollment, reputation, faculty size, corporate partnerships, research funding and endowments. A strong believer in collaboration, Dean Lim established a unique UC Simulation Center funded by P&G that now supports 75 research students from 5 colleges at the University of Cincinnati and was replicated at 3 other global sites, and strengthened the partnership between the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital through an interdisciplinary biomedical engineering initiative.
