RE: Caution: MTSU, WKU may have a reason to stay in CUSA
Greetings from WKU. The Daily News guy that tweeted nothing was finalized is the last person to listen to on breaking rumors with WKU. While he may be the local paper. He is not one to break the news until WKU is ready for the official release. Heck he didn't know a former player was on the basketball staff until the other night at our first exhibition game and the guy had been with the team most of the summer.

The other twitter account referenced above while not an official account. Is someone that has broken news before it was officially released. Plus based on what I have heard from my contacts it is a done deal too. Announcement this week most likely.

Great! Welcome to the MAC and our board!

Appreciate it....just browsing around and seeing what our soon to be new conference mates are saying about us. Definitely excited about the basketball possibilities in this conference. We had some decent teams in CUSA in WKU, Marshall, Old Dominion, La Tech, and UAB. But weren't able to get over the hump to get that 2nd bid. WKU was in the last 4 out a couple of times in the last few years. CUSA did not do us a lot of favors in that department.

Hopefully it’s official soon. Welcome! I visited last year and went to the Marshall game. I was impressed by the turnout even with a limited capacity. Liked the area and had fun at all the caves. Definitely recommend for a road trip when the time comes.

I'd welcome a road trip to WKU for the bourbon side trip but absolutely hate the I65 drive especially north of Indy.

After the GT game hit Mammoth caves. It was a surprisingly good stop.

Welcome WKU.

(Need to research Mid Tennessee)

Hopefully the snag that is being discussed on CUSA board and MAC board isn’t the case. I haven’t be able to confirm, but if true that MAC offered spot with the condition of 25 year GOR commitment form WKU then it may not happen. That is an insanely long time. 10 years, maybe 15 I could see depending on ESPN extension. But no team should have to sign a 25 year GOR. What if in 5 years…10 years Buffalo and NIU are gone out of the conference. Things can change.

Possible the MAC is trying renegotiate its ESPN deal in conjunction with adding WKU and MTSU. I believe the current deal is only a few years out from expiring. This GOR talk could be related to that as otherwise doesn’t make much sense with GOR typically tied to media value so hopefully it all gets ironed out and everyone is happy along with WKU and MTSU becoming official.

MAJOR CHANGE: The original poster on the CUSA board issued a correction: it's NOT a 25-year GOR but a 15-year GOR being discussed. Someone also noted the correction on the MAC conference talk board.
