b/c that's not what this is about. If it was universities wouldn't be lining up to take guarantee paydays from Liberty's football program.

RE: Breaking: NMSu, Liberty, SHSU & Jax State to CUSA
Is CUSA going to reload or wait a few years?

Can UMass score that 10th FB slot?

CUSA to 12 in FB/11 in BB:

CUSA East: UMass, Liberty, WKU, MTSU, JaxSt, FIU
CUSA West: LaTech, SHSU, SFA, Tarleton, UTEP, NMSU

It seems like to me a reload to 12 would help on travel for the FB divisions.

It might take until 2026 to get everyone transitioned up.

Starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel for FCS call ups too deep David.

Travel in CUSA 4.0 is really daunting.

I believe it was in the articles and tweets as a way to be protected against another raid. Staying at 9 or 10 would still put them in danger of going below 8.

You only save football stadium articles from 10 years ago. Don’t save any new stuff to back your “guesses” 10 years from now?

They should go to 14 ensure that each cash strapped C-USA school can schedule a weekend before Thanksgiving buy game at a Sun Belt school to try and stay out of the red while helping the middle to lower tier Belt schools get Bowl eligible, sort of like a intra-G5 version of the SEC’s annual pre-rivalry weekend SoCon Invitational.

RE: Breaking: NMSu, Liberty, SHSU & Jax State to CUSA
So with Austin Peay coming in for 2022, that does give the A-Sun the minimum 6 members to sponsor football, but Jacksonville State is destined to leave for 2023. Does the A-Sun bother with sponsoring football for just one sure season, hoping that they can pull in a replacement for JSU by 2023?

Or do they continue with the current arrangement (KSU/UNA in the Big South, and the rest in the WAC)? As it stands, that would leave the Big South with its current 9 FB members, while the WAC would be at 11 members for 2022 (ACU, APSU*, UCA*, EKU*, JSU*, Lamar, SHSU, SUU, SFA, Tarleton, Utah Tech) and 9 for 2023 (all but JSU/SHSU).

This includes an assumption that APSU would pull their FB out of the OVC right away. Since they seem to want to make it as pleasant a separation as possible, perhaps in this case they'd help fill out the OVC's depleted FB membership as a FB affiliate, at least until a point when the A-Sun can scrape together enough FB programs to sponsor the sport.

With Liberty leaving the A-Sun, perhaps that would make the league a more palatable option for MEAC schools in the event of, say, Howard leaving for the CAA. The A-Sun needs at least 1 FB member to make up for the upcoming loss of JSU, and SCSU, NCCU, or Norfolk State would suffice.

Don't pretend to be obtuse. Also, easier to compete without moneybags in the league.

That doesn’t even look like an appealing FCS league.

HBCUs don't have gay rights as a priority and are not so elitist as the Ivy league and the AAU schools. So again, I don't see how it makes it more "palatable." If you were talking about UMass, I would understand.

The moneybags obviously is an issue.

If you're South Carolina State you now have a better shot at a conference if the MEAC collapses.

I'll Google up some links later, but besides being anti-gay, liberty also has a reputation for being racist.
