… and NMSU, a number of them have concerns about CUSA’s current “lack of stability.” They’re afraid of joining a conference that May in the end die on them.

In football, yes. But the Atlantic Sun is killing their other sports. They dominate the Atlantic Sun to the point it isn't interesting for fans.

Honestly disappointing to see CUSA survive. I think a G4 would fare better in terms of Bowl Tie-ins, media money and CFP payouts with CUSA dying off.

I think it's important for C-USA to survive. Just not bring up too many from FCS.

I'd have rather seen the SBC grab Tech and FIU, and the MWC grad UTEP and NMSU to seal the deal. 16 would be a lot but I've got a feeling there will be some more alignment in a couple of years.

I was hoping they survived.

What they are forming isn’t a conference, it’s a bunch of leftovers spread around the country with zero identity.

I don't think C-USA losing those means it helps out the Sun Belt or other G5 conferences. I was pulling for C-USA to survive because it means the G5 aren't outnumbered by the P5 conferences. The P5 obviously get more pull but in a down ballot vote giving the P5 a defacto majority is dangerous imo.
