For quite a while CUSA was the only G5 at 14 and all we ever heard, from within the conference and out, was that CUSA was bloated at 14 and 10 was the perfect number, certainly no bigger than 12. Now the SBC and the MAC will be at 14, which is apparantly the new perfect number.
It's not so much the large number of members that made CUSA bloated as the overall quality of the members that constituted that number.

The AAC only knows how to call up schools in big cities. Their history shows they won't even think about La. Tech or UTEP.
Last time I checked Miami being a market is debatable - it isn't like the Hurricanes lead the universe in attendance.
I pretty much agree concerning Miami market and attendance. I think the only reason Miami agreed to a H&H with App and actually showed up in Boone for the 1st game is because Miami is unable to generate enough attendance at home to pay for a 1 & done game with an FBS opponent. Yes, Miami has been a college football blue blood, but not within the life span of any player currently playing.

The problem is if ESPN offer SBC more money to add Chattanooga and Missouri State? Then, I could see those two in SBC.

Already 2 LA schools in the Sun Belt and while a Florida presence may be nice, FIU would be on an island with no travel partners, far away from the closest conference mate, and simply haven't done enough at the FBS level, either on the field or in investments into the program, to be worth an invite at this time.
Wait whut? Tech brings nothing to the table? Yes our FB sucked the past two years, but 6 out of 7 bowl wins before that. Our men's BBall team will bring some noise to the conference this year (after placing 3rd in the NIT last year), and baseball, well we did host a regional after you went 10-35. Yes we split, but we could at least bring it to the table for the conference. There is nothing that Tech hasn't brought to the table other than conference championships. We've always been competitive.

You guys should have been a shoe in. But the reason you are on the outside looking in was the complete jerk handling of relations by your schools leadership, especially in the athletic department.
You should direct your complaints and anger squarely at them, demand a more professional approach.
