Correct on both
We shall find out soon enough if ODU can whip us or if the whole SBS East can whip us
I hope we can get scheduled with as many SBC teams as possible next year

RE: FIU Game Thread
The hit most FCS teams take when moving up is not being able to get FBS transfers with immediate eligibility. JMU will benefit from the NCAA voting to allow more scholarships during an exemption year. Normally a school will already get an exemption to the scholarship limit as they transition. I’m wonder if JMU will allowed two?

The transfer portal will allow them FBS transfers with immediate eligibility.

Yada yada yada… as I recall you guys were gonna hang 50+ to zero scores on us the first few years in the CAA. How’d that work out for you guys?

The coaches did a lot better with play calling and clock management. Maybe FIU made them look good. lol

I honestly was not a fan of play calling or clock management and I think FIU was just that bad. But, those are things young coaches can easily learn from.
Im hoping they self reflect after these games and understand the mistakes. The talent and execution is certainly improving, now the in game management needs to improve.

I sorta agree with you here. We were gouging them for 6-7 yards per run and kind of went away from it in the 3rd quarter.
In the end, things absolutely trending positive. If the defensive personnel stays in tact next year and we add a couple of key transfers this team will bowl next year (assuming we stay CUSA for one more year). IF we go SBC, could be a different story.
Still- I think we are right where we should be.

I agree with you both. FIU is simply worse that we are, which made us look better and was fun to see. The coaches do need to improve in the time management area, but I think they would admit as much and seem to be slowly getting better in that area. And I do think staying in CUSA next season gives us a chance at a bowl whereas moving to the SunBeast (appropriately named) probably keeps us at a 3-4 win season again. And a winning season with a bowl appearance would be great for the team and the fan base so I wouldnt hate seeing us stay 1 more season. But Im very happy to be seeing some progress. If we can win one more I'll be satisfied with the improvements we've seen and remain optimistic for the future.
