How does conference scheduling for basketball work in the Sunbelt? Are their travel partners? I figure if there are, we would be travel partners with App St?

UTA/Texas State
Little Rock/A-State
ULM/Louisiana
Troy/South
GSU/GS
CCU/APP

These are the 6 pairs for now. When you travel you will visit both in one trip.

In 2019/2020 we played 20 games. H/H with
A. your travel partner
B. your division
C. with 4 of the 6 teams in the opposing division while hosting one and traveling to one from the pair you didn’t play a H/H with.

I keep hearing the "upset" thing where App just went on an insane run, but it was like that all year for App. 4-1 against GSU on the year. Incredibly streaky, but they were capable of beating anyone or losing to anyone, depending on how they shot the three. Also had a big losing streak where we were missing multiple starters due to COVID. We go to the tournament and start 0-21 from three before making a huge comeback that falls short. We return literally everyone except for a backup PG who missed half of last year anyway. I wouldn't be shocked if we repeat or win the regular season this year.

Just looked up 2021/22 schedule

18 conference games
You play your division H/H for 10 games
You play a H/H with 2 of 6 teams in the west for 4 games
You then play 2 home games and 2 away games vs the other 4 teams for 4 games

Absolutely taking nothing away from the Mountaineers. That was a great cinderella story that makes basketball better than any other sport imo. Shame on us for having the worst final 20mins stretch with all the advantages in depth and fresh legs.

Yep, definitely don't want to diminish what App did. It was a weird year, and the Mountaineers certainly showed signs of being a strong team. Then, they won when it counted. It's a terrible feeling as a fan to enter the conference tourney as a top seed and fail to make the dance. Last time it happened to us, we had a hungry team the next year that made more noise than any team I've watched at GSU. Just hoping that happens again.
