Pretty sure they all have to go through the same application process.

The big difference is that when the application is received by the admissions office, it gets put into an entirely different pile for review compared to everyone else. (Same thing if an applicant happens to have parents that have donated $10 million-plus to the University. Those applications need to be filled out as normal, but they get flagged and put into a special review pile.)

The admissions process is what tripped up Derrick Rose. He paid someone else to take the SAT for him.
