There are a great many things I wish I could turn the clock back to enjoy again, but they are gone. Networks are in control. And the games and schedules are being tweaked to accommodate their desires. Add in courts with NIL and soon pay for play and nothing is going to be the same. The best the conferences can hope to do is monetize it effectively and use what influence they have to set up their conferences accordingly.

I don't see ACC powers remaining content to remain lapped by $40 million in media money alone. I don't see the B1G staying at 14 and locked out of high recruiting grounds and I don't see many options for the PAC 12 due to geographical challenges.

The Big East, Big 8, and SWC are gone. They aren't coming back. So you had best try to make the best hand out of the cards you are dealt.

Nice win by the Hogs against Cincy.

Long story short, to me, it's just a giant version of the 16 team WAC that never had a chance.

The WAC failed because they couldn't monetize a sprawling conference will little TV value. That is not the case here. Long story short, there are opinions, and there are informed opinions. "It ain't what it used to be," and "it'll never work" won't last long around here. They may be opinions but unless they are supported by valid arguments backed in data they aren't worth discussing.

Boise St. is a lot better addition than Tulane. Move Pitt to the ACC in place of Tulane, Colorado in the B1G in place of Pitt and Boise St. in the PAC.

Honestly, if a breakaway does happen, it’ll likely be the two conferences currently making it rain money on new coaching hires; SEC and B1G.
