Is Jerry Kill on staff at TCU or is this just a random thing?

TCU head coach Gary Patterson hired Kill away from Virginia Tech in January 2019 to be a special assistant, overseeing the offense. Although close friends, the two had never worked together before.[27] Kill took over as interim head coach midway through the 2021 season after TCU and Patterson parted ways.

I didn't even know Coach Kill was still coaching. I thought he had to hang it up with his health problems.
Good for him. Obviously he was missing the coaching bug. I don't think he would look good in purple though.

He did one of those all-too-common coaching "retirement" moves (or...not that common but also not surprising when it happens) where he retired from coaching and, in his "retirement" job, he became the assistant AD (or something like that) at SIU which lasted maybe a year before he went back to being an assistant coach (probably at VA Tech).
