MWC = NM State + UTEP + Montana + ND State

AAC = Liberty + LaTech

SBC = MTSU + FIU

MAC = UConn + UMass + Army + WKU

AAC - Liberty + Army FB
MAC - WKU + MTSU + NDSU FB + SDSU FB
SBC - La Tech + FIU
MWC - UTEP + NMSU + Montana + Idaho

Im realignment czar, so I'm ignoring the prompt to make it 16 team conferences. I'm the czar, I'll do what I please!

The assistant to the realignment czar figures out what to do with the rest of college football. Also, I don't know what a czar is (I went to Kennesaw were not that smart) but I'm assuming I have all the power in the world.

Expansion by conferences were a bit more based on geography and state of the athletic department in the 1960's. Texas Western had jusft won the mbb national championship and the institution abrubtly changed the name to UTEP. The Miners had also just recently won 2 Sun Bowl games over TCU and Ole Miss. El Paso was growing and fit nicely geographically. CSU was added at the same time and there were 4 sets of travel partners, UTEP/UNM, CSU/WYO, BYU/Utah, Arizona/ASU.

It's not necessary for UTEP to be the next San Antonio. Plenty of schools in the MWC that also will never be the next San Antonio.

MTSU & WKU to the MAC
FIU & LA Tech to the SBC
NMSU & UTEP to the WAC

Army, UConn, UMass, and Liberty stay Indy and play round robin in November.

Population. The WAC in that era built itself up by uniting western universities that were not already tied down to the AAWU/Pac8 & the Big8 that were located in or nearby heavily populated cities (and Wyoming).

If I were the Czar I'd try to get as much money from ESPN as a I possibly could for my personal bank account. And I'd demand every move ESPN was going to make anyway on the chess board. People would say I was brilliant, and I'd be rich to boot. It's all about the Benjamins that go into my pocket.

That's what I'd do.

If we are doing State conferences I'm pretty sure Fresno St. wins the Cali Conf. We beat UCLA and SDSU on the road.
