The visuals of our campus should be pretty spectacular, especially for folks around the country who picture UC as some urban, concrete commuter campus. I think we're all tired of the G5 storyline and I'm sure we'll get a heavy dose of that. It would be more insightful if they would take a few minutes to trace our BCS 6 history with the old Big East, our emergence as the best G5, and our next destination as the P5 Big XII. Here's hoping that narrative gets some airplay.

It's not just the campus; it's the people. UC's roster of famous alumni is really tough to beat.

Show statues of 3 people: William Howard Taft, Oscar Robertson, Sandy Koufax. Show a picture of Charles G. Dawes receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. Show pictures of Miller Huggins, Tony Trabert, and Jack Twyman entering the Hall of Fame. Then cut to an interview with the Kelce brothers.

And while a little less known than that group, Mary Wineberg, Olympic Gold Medalist remains a terrific representative for our University.

In tomorrow's election, Mary Wineburg is currently running for Cincinnati School Board.

I gotta think Nick Lachey would be the betting favorite for guest picker. Not that i'm rooting for it.

I think Joey Votto would be a sneaky good pick. No UC ties other than the fact that he's lived half the year in Cincinnati for over a decade.
Chiefs play tonight and in KC on Sunday so i don't Kelce is a legit option. Although he would probably be the best fit.

What about former head coach and close friend of the current regime, one Mark Dantonio? Yuck no thanks but i could see how he would be a valuable add to a pregame show.

Nick Lachey will be pulling out every stop to ensure that he can promote himself, I mean represent the school he loves.

RE: ESPN Gameday
How about Gary Sandy aka Andy Travis?

Early life
Sandy was born in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Austin and Dolores Sandy.[1] He attended Fairmont High School in Kettering, Ohio, and lived in Moraine, Ohio. He later attended Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.[2]

Career
Sandy's early TV career included appearances on several soap operas in the early 70s, and a number of appearances as a guest on shows including Medical Center, Barnaby Jones, and Starsky & Hutch.[3]

Sandy's most notable role was as Andy Travis, the new program director at a struggling radio station on the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati. The idea for the show was based on the real experiences of several people who had worked in the industry, including creator Hugh Wilson. [4]

Although - He has said that it bothers him being known for a 70's TV show.[9]

Eh, no offense, but I don't want anything about WKRP put on College Game Day. Talk to outsiders about Cincinnati and they'll tell you the only thing they know is the TV show, and it is usually not put in a positive way.

I suggested yesterday Emilio Estevez. The Sheen family is from Dayton, and Emilio lives here and loves the city. He also can be symbolic of the "underdog" as he played Coach Bombay in The Mighty Ducks.

Wouldn't it be Oscar if he is willing? Of course, it can't be anyone who lives in town because then they can not promote that air service that flies people in.

Think Michigan State liked Ken Jeong last week?

I was at a UC event years ago where Collinsworth served as emcee. He (or his script) never referred to "our" University but to your University or the University. It kind of turned me off and I've seen little evidence through the years that he is Proudly Cincinnati. I understand people having first loyalty to their undergraduate school (Florida in his case) but for someone who has had a terrific career and chose to remain in Greater Cincinnati it does surprise me that he's not more supportive.

Yes it can. They did that with Jerry Lawler to Memphis.

I think the willing is the big part. He hasn't even show up for basketball games for awhile.

You might right in saying it would be some arbitrary celebrity selected by ESPN.

He's pretty funny, that'd be a decent choice. I know everyone wants a UC diehard but it feels like they usually just pick some tangentially related celebrity nowadays. They had Ken Jeong on last week and I believe his only connection to MSU is being born in Detroit.
