Everyone keeps posting on message boards that UALR and UTA are moving, but I never see either school tied to a conference rumor.

I hear we are forming a 64-team super conference with 4 divisions. The 4 division winners meet to determine the national champion.

Us too .Our administration does not care

If we are going to move, and it looks like we will, then by all means let's go to a conference where basketball matters. It never has in the SBC.

I guess it matters in the Summit League since they don't have football. If they add LR, UTA, and a stranded LaTech, you'd have a pretty compact "southern" division with ORU, UMKC, and maybe one more team. Things are up in the air right now, but if WKU and MTSU really go the MAC, it may heat up quickly. Either CUSA shows they have a plan to continue or they go away completely.

If the SLC collapses LR and UTA should try to wrangle New Orleans and pitch that as a southern bloc. ORU, UMKC, LR, UTA and New Orleans isn't horrible, given the current environment. Rocking the Summit could be a way to get a MVC invite in the future.

OVC has also been losing teams. Hard to know what happens next, but there are likely to be some options. UNO used to be in the Belt and was a big rival of ours for a while. Thanks for your interest and concern.

I've really enjoyed being members with LR. I hope y'all figure out a way to stay or go to the conference that has good rivals and success.

I made a post in the main SBC board about staying at 16. I think it could work and really keep travel costs down.
