NC A&T
Are they still interested in moving to the FBS? Could be a good fit for the new CUSA.

What I'd be interested in is how their attendance for Big South games is faring compared to their old MEAC attendance.

Same with Hampton.

The dust will need to settle on MAC expansion first. *IF* the rumors are true, then C-USA will be down to LaTech, FIU, and UTEP. Most of the targets will be in the Southwest if I had to guess, assuming the conference can survive at all (they may decide to take the exit fees and go independent while the WAC/ASUN move up).

Same with Hampton.

It's worse. Give it time though. Something similar happened to App after they left the SoCon.

I think CUSA is dead as a FB league.

I think the dynamic is different though, because AT and Hampton are HBCUs that left an HBCU conference for non-HBCU conferences. That IMO creates a possibly very different situation.

RE: NC A&T
If the Big South does expand with NC Central and keeps Hampton or if Hampton goes CAA then bring in NC Central and Norfolk St.

Having 3 HBCU's in the league will help as you can have a historic HBCU rival at home each year.

NC A&T wants to follow a similar path to CCU's trajectory. Make a few deep runs in the FCS playoffs, raise money, get FBS and be THE HBCU in the country.

NC A&T is different then the failed FAMU bid. NCA&T has equal footing in the UNC system and a lot of support in Greensboro.

Attendance has been down so far. The top attended games so far have been NC Central and homecoming (GHOE) so far.

Almost the entirety of FCS attendance is down. Side effect of playing two seasons in one calendar year.

Times have change, and the alumni at HBCU will go down to buy tickets. A lot of the HBCUs are struggling to get students enrolled. The large HBCUs need to switch course to survive in D1.

Texas Southern, Southern U., Prairie View, Jackson State, Florida A&M, NC A&T, NC Central, Howard and Hampton U. could survive in D1. The others should drop to D2.

A&T is suffering from an identity crisis.
More and more A&T student are choosing to live around UNCG which is about 5 miles across town instead of living in the vicinity of A&T.
A&T has lost some of it's sense of community.

Has more to do with apartment communities being built around UNCG rather than A&T. More apartments with better amenities. That's not a fault of A&T but how the city zoned and private investors spent.

Conversely, a large portion of new development tn Tallahassee has taken place in the corridor between FAMU and FSU replacing warehouses with student housing and shops/restaurants.
