NDSU, SDSU, Missouri State... All full members with Liberty and New Mexico State and maybe 1 or 2 from Texas.
Will that work for you?
I believe that as far as athletics, that is a pretty good conference.
Problem with your suggested schools is that Liberty will likely not join now that Marshall is leaving and Missouri State is saying that they will not move up at this time.
Both would be strong additions.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure most of the realignment stuff got started in late Summer or early fall at least starting back to when the ACC first went after Syracuse, BC and Miami(fl).
You are wrong. It started after the Rutgers beat Princeton in 1869, when Princeton said they didn't want to be in a conference with Rutgers anymore.

Works for me. Send us the logo and we'll throw it on the field early.

Missouri State isn't bringing basketball to C-USA. This is why they have said that they haven't spoken with any FBS conference. Their football is fine in the MVFC and they can continue to build their facilities for when a stable FBS conference comes calling. No offense to C-USA, of course.

A stable FBS conference won’t be looking at a FCS program,

Ninety- nine percent of WKU fans really liked playing Marshall. It is disappointing for sure. Bad day for rivalries and easy travel for FB, BB, baseball, womens soccer, volleyball, softball. Don't forget those other sports even though you new league does not emphasize them.

RE: The Athletic: Marshall is joining SBC
A very bitter sweet moment here for this Marshall fan. Yes, this is the right decision for Marshall, but for many years this was our home and I'll miss some of those teams that are being left behind. I've some very fond memories of our time in CUSA, and wish things could have turned out differently. But it wasn't to be. Best of luck to those left, I hope you find decent homes or are able to rebuild CUSA into a good quality conference. WKU, hope to schedule some OOC games with ya'll in the future if possible.

Congrats Marshall. I think that was the last of the complainers… now CUSA will live in bliss?

I'm gonna miss UTEP even though we are so far apart. One of my favorite sports movies is Glory Road and I love your history. Good luck in the future however all this goes.
