Family meeting last week agreed on 2023 move to Club Seats and Purple to Gold P&T move (obviously somewhat pending changes to giving levels)

They had a very tangible goal- to fund scholarships for all sports so they could be successful. People bought into the idea and took pride in it.

Something like that for JMU would be smart. Especially for those who cannot afford large donations, but want to participate nonetheless.

I am looking forward to attending a CoB - OneBoard meeting next Friday and getting a first hand view of the new CoB building. There are plenty of great things happening all over campus all of the time. The conference affiliation and impending R2 classification fit well with the 'National University' narrative. It will take sustained funding and alumni engagement to increase the momentum we continue to build.

Has there been any update about this beyond "we're expecting to hit this at some time in the future"? I feel like there was something slightly more concrete about that, but can't find it right now. Would be nice to slide both a move to R2 and FBS together to really show a huge jump in national prominence.

I will be upping the ante and expect ticket prices to increase.

I've let my basketball and football season tickets go replaced by trying to make a couple of games.

Now, season tickets for both and will be sure to get to all games

If nothing has changed and things have panned out the way expected according to that email then it should pretty much be just about to happen... Considering that said reclassifying October 2021 and taking effect February 2022 though, gotta wonder if anything has changed since nothing new has been said about it.

Thank you! Looks like it may have been delayed a couple months: https://carnegieclassifications.iu.edu/
Quote:The 2021 Carnegie Classification Update is in process. The preliminary version will be available for “public review” in mid-December 2021. We will send out messages to Chief Executive Officers, Chief Administrative Officers, Institutional Research Directors and several others as identified through the Higher Education Directory when we release the classifications for their review. The Public Review will last about 6 weeks. The classification will be announced as official by the end of January 2022.

Sounds like we should hear initially by mid-December.

I've never given a penny to JMU in the more than 27 years since I graduated. I've spent a little money at the bookstore and attended some football games, but that's it.

I just joined the Duke Club at the $50 level.

Thanks to those who can and do give more.

Everyone gives according to their personal priorities and what they can afford, and I think I speak on behalf of everyone here when I say no one judges anyone based on what you give. Thanks for stepping out in support.

YES. Please start a new thread and someone please do the rest of this legwork. Surely there are at least a handful of empty threats / promises buried in this board's past.

RE: Giving Challenge
I will up my donation to where it was a number of years ago. My employer (ADP) will match a portion of my donation so will be a decent amount. Many companies have some type of matching gift program so make sure you check on that if you are donating.

RE: Giving Challenge
Not related to direct donations but if you aren’t already and use Amazon, make sure to set your account to donate to the James Madison Foundation through Amazon smile. Doesn’t cost a thing and every little bit helps.

https://www.jmu.edu/give/ways-to-give/sh...give.shtml

Amazon Smile has generated $4,134.98 for the James Madison University Foundation since August, 2021.

Not all of my donations will include a comma but the donations will be more consistent and I plan to move into a better neighborhood in BFS which includes increased DC donations
