SMU was ranked and Houston fans stormed the field. Probably only the 2nd time since at least the 80s opposition stormed the field after a victory over SMU. Rice did it in 2006 when they qualified for a bowl for the first time since 1961.

Cincinnati is irrelevant. Struggled to beat a one win Navy team last week, struggled to beat a one win Tulane this week.

Actually, this gives Cincinnati the chance to beat 2 ranked AAC teams instead of just 1 if UH and SMU hold their end of the bargain.

Both Houston and SMU should be ranked tomorrow. No worse than barely falling into others receiving votes.

Not really because if Cincy beats SMU, SMU won't be ranked at that point most likely.

I think Cincy would have preferred for SMU to be undefeated- would have had more juice for the 1st matchup.

With a loss to Cincinnati alone, SMU will finish the regular season ranked, besides, it's not as if the committee doesn't rank all teams, SMU will still be considered a high caliber win by season's end.
