RE: The 38th President Of Marshall University Announced
And dovetailing on that announcement:
https://www.herald-dispatch.com/news/upd...75eef.html
Quote:“We have made no decision about what conference we are going to go in, whether it will stay in C-USA or go into another conference,” he said. “We have gathered information. I have shared that information with Dr. (Jerome) Gilbert and Chairman (Patrick) Farrell.”
Quote:“A lot of Marshall sports fans are understandably anxious about conference realignment,” Farrell’s tweet read. “No decision has been made and discussions about our future are ongoing. I can confidently say that the timing of our decision won’t impact which conference we choose.”

I smoked pot with Johnny Hopkins and Brad D. Smith. It was Johnny Hopkins, Sloan Kettering and Brad D. Smith, and they were blazing that stuff up everyday.

Patrick Ferrell is an attention seeking mudbug that needs replaced.

A formality for sure. He also said later in the article that Marshall will ADD to whatever conference place they wind up--meaning a place that didn't have them before.
Probably will announce next week their intentions to defect.

That's some fancy interpreting you doing there. I still think Marshall goes but maybe someone started realizing that if Marshall holds off making that move for a few years (and yes, the SBC will still want them then too) Marshall could collect $4M to pay their exit fees and new conference entry fees with instead of paying $3M and whatever the SBC entry fee is.

unless WKU or La Tech want to move now that is. Marshall is obviously choice 1A, but like the AAC I think we pivot fast rather than wait.

There will always be room at the Sun Belt Inn for Marshall.

I disagree. If the spot gets filled, it gets filled.

absolutely true when there is a spot available and ESPN will pay for it. But i have a feeling even App doesn't want odd divisions. Some other lucky CUSA school wins the lottery, we wait for Marshall.
obvs this is all moot since Marshall is coming, but just in case.

Marshall wouldn't want Liberty to sneak in there.

Meh...That seems unlikely. Giving up on us this far along in the process would be a bad look, and if there's one thing that's very clear, the Sun Belt has long memories...

Well look at you making threats. If that's the way the SBC operates than I would be very cautious about joining a conference like that, especially if I was Marshall.

Obviously a reference to MTSU, WKU, and FIU not getting asked to join. Don’t blame them, their brand has become stronger since those schools left.

Since you are La Tech, you don't have a choice.
