Every MAC game is going to be a knock down and drag out for our Huskies. That's just a given. Either our defense falters or Rocky finds his inconsistency. Always something or another. It will be the case against this week. If their QB is playing well, they will score points. It would help if our defense could create some turnovers but it seems as if we are allergic to the ball on that side.
Then again our running game is one of the best in the country and will carry us to a victory.
NIU 33, Kent State 28
The Kent St defense is as bad, if not worse than the Huskies’ defense. I think there will be lots of scoring on both sides, but the Huskies come away with the win.

Kent- 37
Huskies- 30
Randy---you may be right---and if you are I really hope this collective group doesn't jump off the bandwagon as quickly as they have piled on......no matter the score or outcome please no "we aren't deserving of a bowl game", "we will get destroyed in a bowl game with this defense" "rocky is too inconsistent to be a D1 qb", "there's no way we are going to detroit"....etc
We are not "who we thought we were".......we are probably better than what we thought we were going to be.
In any case, I am going to continue to enjoy this season with on eye slightly focused on what this team can be two, maybe one year down the road with more experience, age, and size.
We have a two game lead with four to play----we do have everything in our hands and let us not forget those teams behind us still have to play a good round robin with each other and attrition is going to happen without us involved at all.
Let's win this week, next week---whatever weekday games count as---and continue to move forward (together forward---of course).

That's exactly what will happen on this board. All the naysayers will come out and trash the team, players, and coaches.
I don't expect us to win out. It is a very rare feat in this conference for a team to go undefeated in MAC play. Then add to the fact that, as usual, we play a more difficult cross-over schedule than our fellow West division mates with two of the top 3 MAC east teams on the road.

All I am saying. Just hope WMU has that 3rd loss by the time we play them. We take 2/3 along the way. And if it's a 3 way tie, we beat Ball State, I think we are in good shape.
