It actually runs through 2029.

Correct. But they may not be in the AAC then. We also have our home game with Tulsa in 2024.

Troy has a H&H with Memphis in 2024 and 2025 and 2 H&H series with UAB later in the decade.

Coastal just agreed to a H&H with Temple

Arkansas State and Memphis have a bunch of games over the next decade.

UTSA and Texas State

South Alabama and UAB have H&H eventually in the 2020s

I'm sure there are many more but these are the ones I familiar with off the top of my head.

USM has played one of four in a H&H with Tulane. We will probably outdraw them in their own stadium. Again.

If we wouldn't lose so much in home revenues, having the Louisiana/USM games in the Superdome would be outstanding,

+1 to this idea if it allows us each to schedule an "extra" home game OOC.

We had a great crowd and atmosphere at the NOLA bowl in 2016. It might be a good one off deal if we can get up off the mat.

That USM team had both Nick Mullens and Ito Smith, yet only went 7-6?

RE: AAC/SBC rivalry
Chiefsfan mentioned in another thread how we often referenced C-USA, and their message board, as "across the street."

That phrase implies a peer that is close by. In your neighborhood.

C-USA is no longer a peer. It hardly even exists anymore, at least as an FBS league! WKU and MTSU are more likely than not headed to the MAC. FIU is not nearby. It's hundreds of miles from the closest SB opponent, Ga. Southern. UTEP is the same from TXST. La. Tech is the only school with any decent proximity to SB schools.

Meanwhile, there are three former SB schools who are in the AAC. Most of the AAC shared space with USM in CUSA as well.

Four AAC schools are in the eastern half of Texas to go with Texas State, including UTSA less than an hour away. Tulane in New Orleans shares the state of Louisiana with UL and UL. Tulane also has lots of shared history with USM and is nearby Hattiesburg, too. Memphis is a hated and nearby rival of Arkansas State. UAB share the state of Alabama with Troy and USA, having played Troy in particular many times. And of course there's Charlotte and ECU in North Carolina, opposite Appalachian State.

I do not think any special effort needs to be made at the conference level to arrange a challenge or a scheduling agreement between the two leagues. The games are just going to happen, especially between schools with decent proximity and/or shares history.

We better keep our eyes on those punks across the street in the AAC, amirite?

Yes, it was Hopson's first year. If Monken had stayed that team may have won 10 or more. We beat Kentucky with a furious 2nd half rally in Lexington to open the season. Rumor is that Mullens called several Monken plays in the 2nd half in the huddle instead of the OC's calls to bring us back.

Why would they do that?

Dispel the aura/ambiance of being the premier G5 conference?

We have a Home and Home with ECU, and honestly that's the only AAC team I care about playing.
