The stadium did have a curved shape from the original stadium built in 1936 as a wpa project. The sides were torn down and replaced 3 years ago.

ODU tearing down the stadium and rebuilding it from the ground up in a single off-season is one of the most impressive undertakings any state-funded organization in America has accomplished in decades. I guess it helps that a construction company holds the stadium naming rights. I assume they did the work?

Yes ballard did the work. Some fans are torn on the issue. If we would have completed it slower the exrta money spent on overtime and expediting everything could have gone to making it nicer. Still impressive either way with the timeframe.

That is correct, SB Ballard Company did the 'renovation' as it's technically called even though it was a complete demo and rebuild of the sides. The south endzone was already new and that's where our fancy ticket holders have box seats and a drinking area underneath. The north end zone is still bleachers that are reserved for the poor, the away team fans, and students.

Yes, they did. S. B. Ballard came to ODU with the proposal which included working just about 24/7 to demolish Foreman Field (while leaving the south end zone facility and the north end zone seats) and construct the new sideline seating, all between the end of the 2018 season and the beginning of the 2019 season. It has a mix of bench seating and chair seating. The only problem is that we are still looking for the cup holders they promised us.

RE: ODU Football Overview
Yeah, the signs are in place that we could be pretty good next year and really good in 23 and 24. Obviously a lot happens in a year or 2 but the recruiting cycles seem to be really good and we will have 6th years seniors. For example, this is the 3rd year in the system for our QB and he's technically a redshirt freshman with 3 more years of eligibility.

We haven't proven it on the field but seem to be getting closer and closer. Very few of the contributors are seniors.

RE: ODU Football Overview
Thanks a bunch.

Only thing I’ve really known about y’all is that you are in the largest market without NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, or MLS, with the nearest P5 (UVA) 165 miles away and nearest G5 (ECU) 120 miles away.

For those of us further west, it’s basically the same size metro as Oklahoma City.
