1. SMTTT - Southern Miss To The Top! is the big one. Comes from our Fight Song. It’s used many ways:
- As a call and response: Person 1: Southern Miss! Person 2: To the top!
- After first downs: PA Announcer: That’s another first down, Southern Miss! Audience: To The Top!
- At the end of the S-OU-THERN Chant with a call and response x3
- Sarcastically by fans when we do something absurd or bad like getting left behind in the realignments of past or dropping a fly ball against Mississippi State in a regional, also known as a “TTT Moment”
- Adding “TTT” On The end of a name, person, or thing you’re happy about so Sun Belt To the Top! Will probably come up.
2. Less used, but Go Big Gold! Or Go Gold! including Go Gold Fridays.
3. Coach Hall’s moniker has been AIE or Attitude is Everything
4. Pregame you have the Black! Gold! chant where east side of the stadium yells one thing the west side yells the other. Also used at other sporting events.
5. U-S-M! Chant is used a lot in baseball or at away games. As is the previously mentioned S-OU-THERN chant (S-OU-THERN! Southern Mississippi! U-S-M!)
The Eagle Fanfare pregame is my favorite including the “Battle Hymn of the Republic”. “Welcome To The Jungle” for some reason is always played right before the first kickoff. “Thunderstruck” is played prior to the coin toss. Always has been. Controversially, The Pride of Mississippi plays “Are you from Dixie?” After every extra point and as the entrance song for the Dixie Darlings dance team. Following a Third down stop the Pride plays the Imperial Match from Star Wars to accompany the “Nasty Bunch” chant. Amazing Grace” is traditionally played the final home game and during the Fifth Quarter Concert. Additionally, there’s a rendition of “Glory Glory Hallelujah” that’s been jazzed up and arranged as “Rejoice Southern” that’s always fun for the Fifth Quarter. There is a specific fanfare played by the Pride Between the 3rd and 4th quarters that traditionally is played prior to the PA playing Jimmy Buffett’s (USM Alumnus) “Margaritaville” as a sing along.

Yeah it's still played before every football and basketball game. I personally think it fits a pep band better than a marching ba''nd, but do love it for both.
Ah. A lot of purple. Does that mean that you guys are gonna try to take away our name? I kid. I kid.
I missed the reference here.
KITS, I agree 100% it's WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better as a pep band song.
Let me translate
He is referring to the Purple (& Gold) beast to UL’s east.
