I'd like to see a football-only ranking of NIL payments. Something tells me the SEC would be higher than 4th in that list.

That may be true, and I tend to agree. But what this does is show that basketball has a much larger sway than its given credit for.

But until the basketball powers grow the balls to yank March Madness away from the NCAA they'll always being playing from a 1/5 minority stake at the money table.

I'm actually not surprised at how the rankings unfolded. Probably why it was important for Texas to enter the SEC. I Suspect that the B1G will be the standard bearer of NIL payouts for sometime. My only surprise is how low the PAC was. I think it'll be a tad different in the future. NIL is a great equalizer for the PAC, BIG and ACC to compete with the SEC.
