RE: Desmond Ridder rushing
Not downplaying the possibility that Des can get hurt running but IIRC, when he did get dinged up a little early in his career with UC, it was not from hits taken on designed run plays - he was dinged up mostly on the blind hits he took in collapsing pockets and on drop back passing plays. When Des runs on designed plays, he is generally pretty good at sliding or getting out of bounds.

I don't know if he should or should not run more often by design, I just want him to take the opportunities when they appear instead of a 2 foot pass like at Navy. Turn the big TE in front of him into a blocker and take the yards the defense gives him. At that point, the D has to assign someone to shadow Des and they can't just crash their DEs or CBs. 05-deadhorse

Again, easier for us to have an opinion when it's not your most important player to manage on the team with so much on the line. Historically on the line. The formula the staff has employed this year has worked well. I'll trust in them.

Interesting quote from Ridder last year's ECU game

Ridder has accounted for 17 touchdowns in the past four games, including nine rushing TDs.

"Once plays break down and I see a hole, I just go," Ridder said. "The offensive line has done a great job. The preparation has been good."
