2021 Basketball Season is starting up
Basketball season is approaching and I am tired of the Conference shuffle debates. How is everyone looking? Any scrimmages that you guys care to share. Charlotte beat Georgia. Young lead the way with 30 points and 9 assists on 2 turnovers. Looks like the newcomers are doing well for the most part. Charlotte does have a couple of injuries that may hurt them this season.

UAB had a closed scrimmage with Auburn but not much came out of what happened during it other than our front court looked good but our big's against theirs needs some more work. We are still jelling as a team.

I'll say this much...I feel like CUSA was getting ready to turn the corner in basketball and become a consistent 2 bid league....then re-alignment had to happen.

I do too. We had a lot of programs headed in the right direction.

I kinda feel like C-USA has been good enough to be a 2 big league since 2017 - the rest of the world didn't realize it.

I have felt like this has been a two bid league for some time as well. I think it will be better this year than last as well.

The problem has been we haven’t done anything out of conference as a whole. The bottom of the conference drags down the overall strength, and without those OOC wins, there was nothing to base a second bid off of.

Would be 'funny' if we get two bids this year, then everyone says their goodbyes.

It would be even funnier if we get two bids and one of them makes a sweet 16 run. To top it off UTSA ends up in the Access Bowl.

WKU had some real nice OOC wins in there but didn't win the tournament. Given that we almost always beat a 3-5 seed when we play in the tournament we should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Or the year MTSU got outed early and Marshall went. MTSU had the resume. They need to remove the committee from the equation and pick the algorithm they're gonna use and let it stand. Stop changing it to fit their greed and bias.

Yes. We’ve had a team win some games OOC. ODU had a phenomenal year OOC once as well. The problem is we haven’t had 3, 4, 5 teams in one season pick up some solid OOC wins. If we do that, the CPU numbers start to work in our favor.

Kind of similar to the end of CUSA 2.0 when Houston and Southern Miss met in the championship game on ABC both ranked. Then realignment started.
