FIU 1-6 (0-3) @ Marshall 4-3 (2-1) - FIU is not as bad a 1-6 would project, they have some good players in key spots, D'Vonte Price is one. Marshall has been up and down all season so far. Torpedoed Navy, lost a heartbreaker to App State but then lost to MTSU, and edged ODU in OT. I can't picture the Panthers winning in Huntington but didn't think ODU had a shot either. North Texas 1-6 (0-3) @ Rice 3-4 (2-1) - Despite being 1-6 the Mean Green hung tough with Liberty, Missouri and La Tech while Rice is coming off of a solid road win in Birmingham, after being crushed by UTSA. Look for the Owls to prevail at home and making Littrell's seat a bit warmer. Rice 42 North Texas 31

LaTech 2-5 (1-2) @ Old Dominion 1-6 (0-3) - Both teams having disappointing records. The Bulldogs have hung with better teams at times while ODU has lost big to the better teams they have played. The Wolff kid makes ODU a better team but I look for La Tech to end the 3 game skid in Norfolk. Louisiana Tech 31 ODU 28

Southern Miss 1-6 (0-3) @ Middle Tenn. 3-4 (1-2) - MTSU has come on as of late with Cunningham at the helm and looks much better than Southern Miss who has really struggled with offense and putting up points. Middle wins this one with out much trouble in Murfreesboro. MTSU 49 USM 21

Charlotte 4-3 (2-1) @ Western KY 3-4 (2-1) - The Zappe-Sterrns combo has been the best in the league and maybe the nation and looks like the Toppers have developed a decent running game. Charlotte has a winning record and WKU does not but the level of competition is the difference. I can't imagine WKU losing this one unless the wheels fall off of the wagon, expect another 400 yard game by Zappe and at least 35 points. WKU 51 Charlotte 31.

UTEP 6-1 (3-0) @ FAU 4-3 (2-1) - It is nice to see UTEP with a winning record headed into November but looking at their schedule you can easily postulate why. Boise State is the only FBS opponent with a winning record. Florida Atlantic has been good at times and other times not so good. I just can't picture UTEP winning in Boca Raton.

And after UTEP beats FAU they won't have a winning record either.

Higher elevation people - At home and a pretty unstoppable offense
Underground gold seekers - I'm hoping they are for real. This game will prove it.

It looked like FAU was going to put a whopping on them in the second half up by 17 late in the 4th but they scored a TD, onside kick and scored again. Then we held on as time ran out.

Owls should have never let UTEP back into the game. Up by 18 with 5 minutes to go, it should have been over.
