RE: WKU fans a Little Grumpy at Louisiana & stAte ….
I wish no ill will to anyone in CUSA. We were left behind once and it does suck for the short term. But it eventually works out for the best. I have a feeling we’ll be seeing some of those faces again during the next realignment. WKU and MT are just too much in our footprint not to be a part of it.

That gives them a chance to have a never ending circle jerk.
Hilltopper Haven is dead boss, everyone now on 247 board. Try again..Everyone is more than welcome to kick us some more while we are down...Hope everyone feels better now that WKU is with Texas HIgh schools....
I don't wish ill will toward WKU. I LOVE the trips I made to Bowling Green over the years.
My only beef with them is, while their fans say "we didn't rip the league when we left we just did what was best for us." Your actions spoke louder than your words when you refused to schedule schools from the Sun Belt. Louisiana has tried EVERY YEAR since WKU left the league to schedule a home and home in MBKB. We'd love to play home and home non conf. in football. But nope.
Through your ACTIONS, you showed you didn't want to be associated with us. You got your wish.
Dont blame anyone for that except WKU.
We ended up scheduling MWC teams home and home because no one in CUSA would. Ended up getting some AAC home and homes and if Mohajir were still around he’d probably have taken some digs at that on Kara’s show in the last week.
He had specifically mentioned MTSU and WKU to me saying neither had the professional courtesy to even return calls. Said calls MTSU, never hears back. Calls Memphis gets a home and home deal. Calls WKU never hears back, calls Kentucky they offer one in Lexington and one in Nashville which we turned down. Calls UAB, they call back and offer a one off game in Montgomery but didn’t like the money unless it included a home/home. Said he can get Bama and Georgia and USC to return a call but not the schools who left.
He wasn’t around when these negotiations started, but he certainly wouldn’t have been an ally.

Troy-WKU have a H/H series coming up the next 2 seasons. It’ll be the first time we’ve played since they left.

Its funny you act like we murdered someone. Instead feelings hurt and pissed off we didn't have room on our schedule is petty. Lots of programs have left Sun Belt conference and came back that didnt schedule old foes, but its ok, WKU doesn't want to be in this crappy basketball conference to begin with, good luck to you.
Look at a damn map. Odds were against you from the get go. We’ve got two hubs now. One division centered around Hattiesburg and one around Boone.
I personally had no opposition to adding WKU, had zero interest in MTSU. Not because of hard feelings but because I think the program is stagnant. It’s like they got their CUSA patches, declared mission accomplished and were done.
Yeah our AD had a strong distaste for the departees because they wouldn’t extend the courtesy of returning phone calls but this is a campus CEO decision and our chancellor was at OU when the exodus began.

Wow ok. I can see this guy stomping out and slamming the door. The rest of us look at each and say who was that. I hope he didn't cry to long after he left.
WKU will be good, you worry about your dump of a program. Doesn't matter what conference we are in, we will continue to have actual success on field and courts...
Here's what the five stages of grief are, and how you can consider and process them in whichever order you experience them.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression

WKU is certainly going to elevate itself in MAC (assuming they think you and Muts are worth the trouble of inviting)
MAC is a great fit.
Good hoops.
Not a lot of crazy spending going on.
Tournament in Cleveland every year

WKU and MTSU are peasant institutions. Their membership to the SBC being allowed would plummet the credibility of this conference. I wouldn't want our schools having to play football at their peasant ruins they call "facilities". Very few of them own televisions. They do still have radio for entertainment, though there are only 3 stations.

Choose your words carefully. We may need them on the next round of realignment.

Agree . . just ask La Tech Fans about Burning Bridges. A very bad idea.

Jaybird, I’m not really surprised at their delusions, considering they hated us for years because they claimed we “danced on their center court logo” after beating them, which never happened.
I will also share that I once pissed off Joel Murrie so much that he broke the dugout phone that connected to the press box after threatening to walk up there and “kick my a$$”. So that was fun.

Agreed. If the MAC extends invites, I think it will be our best pairing yet. We were always going to be the Basketball school that just happened to play football in the SBC (which is primarily a conference of Football schools that happen to play basketball). C-USA was good on paper, but it didn't take long to see that it was a continent of misfit toys. Markets, academics, culture, sports emphasis, etc. Everyone was all over the place (quite literally when it came to geography). Couple that with awful leadership and an awful media deal and this is the result. A ship sinking so fast you can't even get the life boats to water in time. The MAC offers stability, geography, good basketball, solid football. I am not thrilled at the idea of midweek games, but I understand their purpose. Best of luck to the SBC, hope to see you guys in bowl season going forward.

I really don't have anything against WKU or Middle. I am glad they left when they did though, as it helped to facilitate the rise of the SBC. I always enjoyed when we played WKU in basketball and the great "mascot fight" that occurred in the UL vs Middle game was classic. The crowd did get a little worried went the middle mascot fell off of the wall around the field. Luckily he (or she) was OK.
As for conference realignment, it was a numbers game and the SBC cannot sustain more that 14 football playing members, so there was no room for WKU. Now La Tech is a different matter.

If I knew how to or could give positive reputation this would get some.
I don't have that button either. I've looked a thousand times trying to give people positive rep for some outstanding posts.
What do you have to do to get that ability? I've been here 5+ years and made over 350 posts
You can also click on their reputation points. It will take you where you can see what their + and - points were for and have a dropdown to give points.

UNT15 are you on the csnbbs website or using the Tapatalk app? Not sure the app has a way to give rep points.
