It’s true, helps with our geographical footprint now though.

They would be surrounded by Sunbelt schools.

That's old news, I think that came out right after blue checks were saying Marshall, JMU, USM and ODU were coming here.

That is true. Funny how time changes things. A few years ago we were offering over $20m to join that conference and now it’s a hard no.

Yeah, for true. They would definitely be king of the heap in the new coosa, which they no doubt know, which makes the refusal to join that much more hilarious.

Liberty just needs more time to convince the naysayers that there on the up and up so to speak. It'll happen in time.

Better for Cusa in the long run. I wouldn't want to be conference mates with that scummy diploma mill.

I understand the aversion to Liberty from folks. But it seems to me Liberty gets an undeserved bad rap. If you have ever been on their campus youd know that its a nice place and they havelots of money. Lots and lots. The folks i have spoken to on campus have been nice. IMO, theyd make good addittion to the Sun Belt. Just sayin.

Not all money is good money. We don't need that baggage. Believe me they have EARNED that bad rap.

Time, you mean like 3 days. When things broke. Before that Liberty was still trying to bribe USM, Marshall and ODU to stay, so Liberty and JMU could join. Thankfully we are leaving the sinking ship and not adding 2 to it just for the sake of a few feeling that might get hurt or a few toes stepped on.

Yep.

And that needs to be rule #1 for all in-coming newbies: we stick together as a conference, so don’t even mention anything about kicking out ULM, or anyone else.

This is part of the reason La Tech fans are so salty at USM right now. The AAC taking 6 was a pretty deep wound to C-USA, but there was still theoretically the hope that they could do like they've done twice before and poach the top choices from the Sun Belt to rebuild. Southern Miss jumping ship for the Sun Belt essentially cuts the legs out from under what remains of C-USA. No chance of luring Liberty, and now basically everyone else left on the C-USA boat is scrambling for another home.

I was all for the Sun Belt.
I would have gotten over it if we were stuck in C-USA,
but only IF they finally fired Judy.
Judy won't be fired. If we didn't land here, I was not contributing another dime with her in charge of our fate.
