But the payments will be spread over two seasons and the Bulldogs, even with the large payment to the Golden Flashes, still will be able to hit a revenue target and bank at least $1 million in guarantees. Fresno State in 2023 is receiving $1.3 million to play at Purdue and $1.1 million to play at Arizona State. It will pay Kent State $800,000 and FCS Eastern Washington $300,000 for games, and also make a $275,000 payment for a 2025 game against Southern, which will bring its famed marching band known as the Human Jukebox to the San Joaquin Valley.

The Bulldogs will net $1,025,000 in game guarantee revenue in 2023. In 2024 it will rake in $1.85 million to play at Michigan and $1.2 million to play UCLA, which it has beaten four times in a row including the past three times when taking a trip to the Rose Bowl.

It will pay Kent State $300,000 and Southern $275,000 in 2024, in addition to playing games against Sacramento State for $350,000 and New Mexico State for $650,000.

Which of these is winnable?

All of them. Was winning a bowl game "winnable" to you in 2019?

I’m not sure what a bowl game 3 years ago has to do with a future non-con schedule.

RE: Future Football Schedules
Talking about what games are and aren't winnable in the 2023 schedule is kinda pointless before the 2022 season even starts. Especially in the transfer portal era where teams transform every off season. I think we can all agree that the average year for those three teams, while very good, is not the same as the average year for what we have this year. There are only a handful of teams that legitimately contend for the playoffs every year and we've got two of them this year.

Kent State 2022 schedule
Only team in the history of the modern BCS Playoffs that will play 3 teams in the same season that have appeared in the playoffs.

Which of these? What “these” are you referring to? You responded to me and I was only discussing Fresno State. Fresno is usually pretty tough, but it’s not like we’re traveling to Bama, Clemson or Georgia coming off a national title.

Of UCF, Arkansas and Fresno State, I was wondering which of these you felt was winnable?
Considering I was clearly only talking about the Fresno State game I’m going with Fresno State.03-idea

So why did you ask me to clarify? ? And yes, this 2023 schedule is not quite the murderer’s row we face this season. But we’re still going to start 1-3.

I don't think they will be 1-3. Schlee will have a full year of playing time under his belt to go along with the previous three years of being in the system. Next years team will have faced Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Iowa. Those are much more hostile environments than UCF, Arkansas and Fresno St. I have confidence that the team will be 3-1 to start the season as long as Lewis is still coaching the team.

You have confidence that we will go 2-1 against UCF, Fresno, and Arkansas a year from now having never seen Schlee start a game? That's gotta be the most glowing endorsement of a new QB I've ever seen. Hope you're right. I'll wait 6-12 months to decide if I agree.

I’m BIG on Schlee. I was glad SL found an offensive package toward the end of last season to get him more involved than just 4th quarter mop up duty. But I will streak across Dix Stadium at Homecoming if we start 2023 3-1.

In all seriousness, how has the "FlashWave" never caught on at events? You know where everyone lifts their shirt around the stadium

This gesture is crude, but effective.
Seriously though, we need something to get crowds engaged. Our fan base is the most bored in the conference. I'll say it again, our fans looked pitiful all of the basketball season.
With all our success there is nothing: No chants, no gestures, no call-response cheers. As much as it sickens me, Ackron's "Z" hand gesture was brilliant. OU-Oh yea is awesome. Kent's silence is pitiful.

A successful "FlashWave" would go viral instantly. Can be a very successful recruiting tool for 17-18 year old kids. Recruit: "Kent State. Isn't that the school where everyone "Flashes" during the game"

I feel like it would have to be unofficial. You know in our PC world no AD or administer would ever greenlight this.
