Hoops Family Field from Google Earth will show you where the stadium is situated and give you an idea of the Marshall campus. The Marshall campus is almost a rectangle in Huntington. There are a few things taught outside of it in Huntington but not much.

We are scoreless at the half also. Marshall had its best shot early in the 1st, if their keeper hadn't stretched for the ball it would be 1-0 right now.

I scrolled out slightly and found Ohio. You guys literally are right on the state line...

Yes. You can sit in the top of our stadium and see Ohio. You can be in Ohio and see the stadium and even hear the PA system etc.

We are also only a 15 minute drive or so from Kentucky.

Those are also some of the cheapest homes around. Not a bad area per se, but those are all older homes and not considered a desirable area. Huntington and WV in general is like everywhere else. We have our rough spots, we have our nice spots, and then we have places in between. The homes near the soccer stadium fall in to the category of "in between" imo.

RE: Sunbelt to sponsor Soccer
Something has been off with this team all year to be honest. Never could put my finger on it. We completely fell apart the last part of the season and a lot of it had to do with red cards catching up to us. We didn't have one of our best players today (again.) I hope this is something Grassie addresses in the off-season and going in to next year.

LOL...it's all good. That's how some people feel about soccer and that's how I feel about baseball.

Considering we literally sold out every single game this year and had over 3k for our game against WVU....I think it's safe to say that soccer is quickly growing in the Huntington area.

While I really don't care for soccer myself, I'm glad to see it doing well. That said I questioned the $$ being poured into soccer and wondered if it made sense long term. Maybe it was a good idea... and maybe we let the emotion of winning a national championship overwhelm good sense. Time will tell. This season was a huge disappointment, and we will see if things can be righted, or if this couple year run was a lightening in a bottle.

It's a disappointment because of the high expectations we now have. We definitely under performed and something was off all year. We still made it to the round of 32, had multiple weeks ranked #1 and will probably finish the season ranked Top 25.

In the last 3 seasons we have a Sweet 16, National Championship, and round of 32.

I think next season is really going to answer a lot of questions for us in the regard you are talking about. Will we continue to sell out every game? Will we get back to at least the Sweet 16? Who knows, but next year is a big year in terms of a measuring stick of program vs team/good run...JMO
